Hello!I was asked to unveil my writing process, so I will give the high level overview, here.

Assume that I have chapter A already in rough draft state. This is the process for MM chapters, etc.

I write chapter B, consulting any notes/outlines.

As I am writing B, if there is anything that could/should have been set up in the previous chapter(A), I go back and make a note at the top of that chapter.

When I get to the end of B, I write a few sentences about where I am aiming the scene, any injuries that happened, or anything that needs to be carried through into chapter C.

At this point, the chapter goes to my Alpha reader, and she gives me a general impression of the overarching content, utterly ignoring grammar and the like.

Assuming it's in a good place, I put B aside [to become A of the next day].

Then, I go back and do the second pass of A, weaving in anything noted/needed that came up when writing B.

A then goes to the Beta Readers, and I make changes based upon their input.

When it is time to give A to supporters, I go through it a final time.

After it is with supporters, I make changes/corrections based on their thoughts and feedback.

Then, it goes to Royal Road, and I make changes/corrections based on their thoughts and feedback.

Once an entire book is on RR, I verify I've made the needed changes, put it all in a single file and send it off to the first editor.

When I get back the book, I make all changes, smoothing out the text before sending it to a second editor.

Similarly, I make all the needed changes once I get the book back from the second editor.

This then goes to Tess Irondale (Narrator) and some 'beta listeners' that listen along with her recording, a copy of the manuscript in hand.

I correct any issues they discover during recording.

When Tess is done, she sends us the files and my Alpha Reader/Editor listens through the whole book, noting down audio and textual issues.

I fix the textual and flag the audio for Tess after I verify them.

Tess fixes the pickups.

We go to print and audio release!

And there you have it! My simple process for MM chapters from first draft to publication. 😅🤣

Thank you once again for your readership and support!

My boss has a saying "Do the routine things routinely" Our engineering design process is remarkably similar. Start with a "Single Line" of a substation showing all the equipment, buses, relays with their control schemes, and switches; Start all the panels that will contain the relays we need; connect the panels on elementaries (what is connected to what) to make the logic work (why things are connected and how they should act); update the front views of the panels to make sure everything we are using has a physical location, has labels for what relays, switches, and push buttons do, and the Bill of Material has an entry for everything needed to build the panel; then we do a self-check and make corrections as needed; hand it off for an independent check and make corrections; hand it off to the engineer of record (licensed Professional Engineer who will be signing and sealing the package [used to be exclusively my boss now is more often myself]), issue to the client for review; while waiting for the review do the wiring for panels, equipment, and everything between, create all supporting documents; get client comments and make changes cascading out from logic to elementary to wiring; self-check complete final package and correct; independent check final package and correct, engineer of record check final package and correct, issue to field; field builds; field marks up how they actually built it, and finally update drawings to show how the field actually built it
