Hello NeRBs!

Just wanted to check in with something we've been talking about and see what you reckon as it effects one of your Patreon Exclusive videos!

Back when we first launched Chaotic Neutral we briefly toyed with including it in the NRB Patreon (which did not work) and even uploaded a Patreon Exclusive Prologue for our D&D series here at the $11.50 tier (which is why I'm only asking those of you currently on this tier). We're looking to do a super long "Complete D&D Series" video on Chaotic Neutral on YouTube that has all the eps back to back and thought it would be cool to include the Prologue as a bit of an exclusive. However, I'm aware that this is one of the benefits of being here on this Patreon, so I put it to you: are you ok with us including it in a "Complete Series" video?

My aim is to go with the majority here, but I'll definitely let you what the plan is before we go ahead an upload! If you have strong feelings either way drop a comment and we can chat about it!

Anything in the hopes that we get to see more of that awesome crew. More Itchard!!!

Steelharbinger

If it brings more people to the Patreon, it will lead to more content. I have no issue with that! I’m here to support you guys so that you can make more content for us all to enjoy! Also cheers for continuing to make excellent content ❤️

Edith

If it get more people to watch and join then I say go for it 😌

Matt Castleberry

Anything to help the channel continue to grow!

Gareth Thomas

Just want DnD back.. missed it..

Kodex

Hopefully, it brings the series back

MZA

I voted "do it", but honestly, I want you to do whatever stands the best chance of generating more Chaotic Neutral content, particularly a continuation of the D&D campaign (although I LOVE the Cthulhu stuff that makes up the bulk of the channel) as it feels like long unfinished business!

J. Walker

With 115 votes recorded, it's 99% in favor of sharing the Patreon content with everyone. This community rules.

brettdupree

If it helps me narrative games get published. I love those. It has been a long time since you done one of those.

Mr. Samuel Scratch

More neutral chaos for more piglets! This is the way!

james knight

Honestly I came late to the party and somewhat struggled to get into the d&d campaign but this complete series on yt would probably get me to watch so I'm 100% in favour of this

David Maltby

Absolutely publish it on Youtube. If it helps the Patreon grow then it's win-win for everyone.

Jay the historian (they/them)

Whatever works best for the channel! I absolutely love the DnD show and would love to see everyone back! All fans should get to see the prologue as a treat ☺️ we still got to see it way ahead in time and we get our money’s worth with all of the other content!

Paul Ross

Everyone needs more Itchard!

Charlotte Perrill

So here for the sharing! Views means traction, which means more people and subsequently…..MORE ITCHARD AND TOBS!!

Frank Levi

I would love to see that series continue. It's so good!

Rex

I’ve been wanting to rewatch it, and this is an excellent occasion to do so. Please please please we’ll do anything to see this crew back. The series got me into TTRPGs as a whole, and now I’m in 2 DnD campaigns.

Viper H

I'm all for sharing content for free. I know you need to make money but making things available for free is very generous!

Kori

More Tom everywhere please.

David

More Itchard , Slambo, and doms utterly useless mage/doctor. I like the prologue on the patreon as it might get more peeps signing as this is your revenue coz youtube just isn't paying you guys anything. However the characters also need to be shared with the world. Happy either way

Nerd E

More non Patreon views mean possibly more Patreon pledges means more money means more content. Yes please share with the class lol.

Simfers

Yeah, go on then, share it with the people! Put it in the newspapers, even!

Brian Schulz

The more that can be shared, the more NeRBs that will be enticed to join Patreon. Win, Win in my opinion.

Will B

When it's older stuff like this, we've already gotten our money's worth out of it, letting more people watch it is only a good thing, and could draw more subscribers here

Simon Reitenbach

I'm a patron here because I love the content you provide and would love to see it continue for a long time (i.e. as long as you also have fun, and it is feasible). The decision of what you do with the content I'll gladly leave up to you!

Omega Xicor

Patreon exclusivity was that we got it earlier than everyone else, that's enough for me.

Martin Burch

In general, I don’t like the feeling of seeing videos be made freely available on YouTube that I had previously paid for on Patreon. However this case is an exception because it is a prologue and therefore part of a bigger thing. So it makes sense to me to release it for free as part of that bigger whole series. And, as others have said, it seems likely that it could encourage more people to join the Patreon by making the whole series available on YouTube, with the previously exclusive prologue. Another way I would accept it if a video was made freely available that had previously been exclusive to Patreon, would be if the expectation had always been established that Patreon exclusive content would eventually be made freely available after a certain length of time. That way I would always have known that I wasn’t paying to access the videos - I was paying for early access to the videos which would eventually be free to access.

Steve Pellikaan

Share away. There’s still plenty of content on Patreon.

Xavon

More content bringing more fans is better. I would say one month of Patreon exclusivity is good enough.

Mr Hodge

I think it's a great idea, perhaps more to come in the future? I support the channel for the content, keep up the good work guys x

The CastAway DC

Fine with me, I'm here because I love what you all do.

Amy

It wouldn't be fair for this content to stay exclusively on Patreon - its too good and needs to be shared. Also, more subs = more money = more content, so its a win-win, really. I pay for Patreon to support the work of this team, so honestly, seeing a majority of the content go public wouldn't bother me.

Adam Gough (greasykid1)

Great idea. Sure to bring in new NERBS. Quality content deserves to be shared.

Adam Gough (greasykid1)

My thoughts exactly. Paying for early access is enough for me. Can't hide the content from the world forever 🙂

richard suter

Share the love my dudes The more the merrier

Brian Smith

I have very little interest in the D&D stuff, I didn’t even know there was a video on here, might as well let those who do enjoy it have more of it.

Andre Roy

1) I appreciate you asking and not just assuming we'd be ok with it. And clearly, looking at the poll, we ARE ok with it. 2) As many indicted before, you can't make a compilation without it and hopefully it will drum up enough interest for A) the Patreon(s) and b) a sequel to their adventure (I was saddened by the failed KS).

Hadders

Echo the thoughts on here that if it gets more people to watch and a potential continuation of the series then I’m all for it….Tis the season to be jolly and joyous fa la la

Mel Glueck

I pay for the Patreon because I care & want to support y’all (the exclusive videos are a plus too 🤪) but I would love for more content to be accessible for people who may not be able to afford the subscription- please do share the love!! ♥️

Stephen Ibrahim

Definitely share it Laurie, that series is amazing and people should see all of it!

aBrassHand

We pay to make sure you get cash for your hard work. It would be a wonderful world if those who are able would fund you and those who can’t pay still reap the rewards. People should see all your fantastic work!

Christian

This is such a wonderful community

Shiiva Wilding

None of us paid to keep content from non-patrons, we paid to ensure you could create the videos you wanted, to the highest quality possible. I'm sure fans will love to see the prologue!

Erik Vejen Nielsen

I support you so you can continue doing what you're doing, not for exclusive rewards. I'm for anything you need to do to reach a greater audience and keep the show going.

cuteunni

I’m down for it. It might get others with the budget curious enough to check out the Patreon for the rest of it.

Alan Lee

i don't mind as long as you make a new season for us on Patreon! lol

Mr. Samuel Scratch

Lies are news and the truth is obsolete! But Chaotic Neutral is still real.

Drjos

I've said this last time you guys asked for "permission" to share old exclusive content. I would 100% support you guys regularly doing this, BotC is perfect for this, just let us vote on which of the patreon videos of the last 18 till 6 months ago videos should be made public.

Jerard

Doing this may help more people decide to back this Patreon and maybe you will get some ad revenue from it. That could mean better pay for you for what you do and could help fund more content. We lose nothing and could gain from it.

anne

Put any previously exclusive content that will help you grow and make more money public! I want/need you all to continue to do well.

Ash

Go for it. Exclusive content is great. Being able to get more content period is better. And if this gets more eyeballs on the channel, that's a win for everyone.

Ash

Exactly. It's not about the exclusivity. It's about supporting a thing we enjoy.

John Spatterdash

This adventure was the catalyst which transformed me from admiring YouTube fan to CN&NRB Patreon supporter. I love the group's work in general, and Itchard and Slambo in this arc in particular. If it helps others to decide to support, go for it! :)

Steffan from New Zealand

Go for it. Love the content, happy to support in whatever way keeps the NRB train chugging along.

Nicholas Caldwell

FWIW - as far as I'm concerned you can release any patreon exclusive content after, say, a year if it helps the channel

TAPgiles

Me too! 🤘🤘🤘

Roger

Yep, firmly in the camp of anything that’s been on Patreon for a while can be made public.

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Thanks John! That's lovely to hear, I loved the D&D series and getting to play as Itchard was just the best

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Thanks! I just think it's important to check in with you guys about these sorts of things. We don't really want to make a habit of releasing loads of the Patreon content, I really like the fact that the Patreon offering just keeps getting better and better as we add more and more to it.

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: It is something I want to come back to for CN eventually, might be a while down the line, but it's on my list for sure!

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Thanks Joshua! We have some very big very silly ideas for later in the year that the Patreon is absolutely helping us to achieve!

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Thanks Mel! Appreciate the perspective, definitely something I've been thinking about too.

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Me too, Andre me too! The D&D series is something I definitely want to come back to down the line for CN, just might be a while yet

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Thanks Martin, I really appreciate your perspective. Generally speaking making the Patreon exclusive content available on YouTube isn't something we intend to do regularly at all, more for just fringe cases like this Prologue. And if we ever were going to do it regularly we would definitely change the messaging around what the Patreon is, i.e. more for early access than exclusivity.

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Thanks Brian, here's hoping some are tempted!

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Thanks Simon! You'll be pleased to know we're still having fun and it's more than feasible thanks to you and the other Patreon's support!

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: It's you guys being generous here! It's your content! So thanks!

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: That's incredible Rex! Really lovely to find that out and I'm so glad you enjoyed the series. Might take a bit of time to get it all together but hopefully will upload on CN in the next month or so

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Thanks Frank! I'd love to do more of it too!

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: Thanks Charlotte! There was so much stuff I had for Itchard that we didn't even cover

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: It's something we're looking to do more of as CN grows

james knight

It won't take much can't wait to get to the London live show

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: It's our pleasure to make cool things for you guys to watch! Thanks so much for supporting, we couldn't do it without the Patreons!

NoRollsBarred

LAURIE: I have so many secrets that we just didn't get to cover!

Tiffany Nelson

I would love to watch a new campaign if thats possible as well. Especially since i can finally be a patron of both channels

Martin Burch

Thanks Laurie. Thank you for taking the time to reply which made it clear that my views were heard, particularly as I seem to be in the minority in the general case despite agreeing with everyone in the specific case and actual question posed. I really love NRB and the vast majority of its content. The cast come across really well, giving me a sense of being part of a great group of friends having fun playing games together; and enjoying their skills as actors, comedians, and improvisers. Thank you for everything you do to keep all that going.

Ryan & Molly

At the time of writing this - 1445 votes and 99% say yes. That is incredible to have such a unanimous decision, and a very positive one at that! We adore you guys, and as others have said, we support you on Patreon primarily out of a desire to support you for all the countless hours of entertainment you’ve given us, not for special rewards and exclusives (though those are certainly enjoyed). Always happy for you to do whatever will best help you, the channel, and all your terrific cast. PS - can’t wait to meet you on the cruise! We signed up basically as soon as we were able. If you already have an idea about this, will there be ample opportunities to actually meet and chat with you all, possibly get some signatures? I won a signed Grim from Daddy Ben at Clocktower Con in DC last year, also got it signed by Chris Grace, and would love to add all of your signatures as well!

Callum Law

Share it…. CHELSEA!!!

AndrewG2

Fire away :)

AndrewG2

I think this is my calling for a re-watch

Kodex

We miss all of the characters, but I need to hear Slambo and Itchy singing together again

Brandoooon

How could anyone say no to Itchard!

Bethany Lockard

I’m happy to support because I can, but I’m also happy for those who can’t to get to enjoy one of the best campaigns ever. More joy! More Itchard!

OOSHALIA

Bring ichard to the masses!

Cyrinil

Full disclosure: I'm here to support a channel that I feel deserves the money. The extra content is just a bonus to me.

Simon Reitenbach

That is awesome to hear. Apropos hearing stuff - I really hope that you will find the time at some point to offer these episodes in podcast format. Whenever you get to it ...

ContrabandDonut

I second this idea. Seems like a long enough time period.
