Jon’s ability to chose the worst possible option for his team will never fail to amaze me. Would love to know his thought process on choosing those 3 kills

Caledronius

Jon...are you SURE you weren't the Lunatic? 😋

Scott Byrne

Did I miss it or did they not include the moment Brooke says "Cheesecake"?

AndrewG2

After so long, John's still hilariously bad at BOTC lol I love that man

Crapoleon

This is my favourite so far. Mara showed how good she is at this which hasn't come through much as the other great players like Carley and Holly tend to be larger voices. Jon is just hilarious.

John

I think you don't kill Adam going into the final day, because he's always absolutely certain he's correct in these social deduction games and he's also always wrong. (Although, granted, Jon could easily have played it better by keeping around an impotent character who couldn't nominate. Though I suspect that they would have killed Tempest as the gossip kill if he hadn't picked Tempest to die already.)

Darren Foster

I definitely think he didn't understand his character very well. If you are a Golem and you've decided to out yourself as Golem you want to be the FIRST person nominating that night, you can't not nominate (the demon will kill you if you don't) and if you don't nominate first you let people lock you out of people you'd actually want to instant kill/demon hunt. By the time he actually nominated there were only 3 people left.

Kalle

Jon drives me absolutely crazy in this.

Definitely-Not-The-Devil

Imagine 2 games being different games while being in the same genre! Oh by the gods its unimaginable that 2 games arent the exact same game! Who could imagine such atrocities as THE GAMES BEING DIFFERENT. Seriously man critical thinking skills should be mandatory teaching everywhere.

Dranearian L

Hes still clueless regardless of game rules. Not killing tempest was literally the most braindead play I have ever seen in botc.

Maj Pečarić

jon somehow never believes he is the actual demon and still wins. Props to mara

John

As usual, Adam convinces himself of a world and twists the facts to fit his view of the world, rather than using the facts to lead him to the actual conclusion. This is why it baffles me that people think he's good at this game, because he just isn't. If I'm evil, I want him on the good team, and I want to talk to him early to convince him of a worldview that is wrong, because he'll do a TON of legwork for me twisting all the information to support that worldview. He does play well as evil because he actually knows what's going on, so he causes the good team to lose in exactly the same way as he causes them to lose when he's good.

D. C.

That's a bit harsh on him, although I know where you come from and you definitely have a point. He certainly tends to overcomplicate worldviews because he leans to early in one worldview that he "likes" or he would probably go for himself if he was evil in that situation. There are definitely situations, where he lead the good team in the wrong direction with this.

D. C.

On the other hand: When he's good and the evil team actually is cooking or going for something crazy, he sometimes is totally on the money. I think he's a great evil player, but only a "quite good" good player, if that makes sense. Overall I consider Carley and Ken to best players in NRB, Holly only when she's evil. Mara has some great games, so has Adam and actually Sully is consistently pretty good, despite him absolutely throwing some games but getting away with it, because he seems so trustworthy 😂 Well, in the end, you have to know your strengths as a player...

John

Adam's hardly the only one who does this. The problem that a lot of players have as good players is to see something odd. So they think, what does this suggest? They come up with several theories, and they do have a tendency to lean into those theories too hard. To twist the information they find into pretzels in order to support the original idea they had. Adam just does it more vocally than everyone else. One of the reasons Carley is so good (and virtually always won when she was playing with NRB) is that she drops theories, but then follows the information, rather than trying to get the information to support her worldview. (And when evil, she throws out theories she knows are wrong but that seem reasonable and well-considered.) On the are occasions she loses it's usually because the other team stumbles into a victory before she has time to figure out what's happening, or (sometimes) because the STs are far too forgiving. (At least once the storytellers should have killed Adam for breaking madness, but didn't, and at least once they should have given the victory to the evil team, but chose not to, because it's not ideal for a game to end that way.) There's also a tendency of players in NRB games to always say "unless I'm drunk or poisoned." And often to assume they are drunk or poisoned. I learned early on in my games to assume that your information was good until and unless you had good reason to think it was not. Because the fact is MOST of the time, you won't be drunk or poisoned. And it's easy to become convinced that you are drunk or poisoned and that therefore your information (especially if doesn't support the world you constructed) is invalid. I'll grant that Ben is particularly malevolent when it comes to placing a drunk token, so there are certain roles where the belief that you are drunk really makes sense. If there's a drunk on the script and you're the most powerful character on the script... there's a good chance you're gonna be the drunk. But it's still a case where I would assume I wasn't. And if you watch or consider carefully you can usually figure it out.

Sarah Sutton

Late Patreon viewer catching up on these episodes. Why are so many people so excited to call players out for "bad decisions" when you literally have ALL the information that they don't? They're making amazing content for you. Sus behavior.

Kaetê

Tempest: I'm a Golem, I'm a Pokémon. Seeing that after the episode where he says to his plushie: I fucked this up, Totodile. I think he likes Pokémons Blair and her cat were SO CUTE, OMG. And I loved the Sweet Cult. And John... poor Jon lol EDITING TO ADD: Omg the last execution when Jon said close to the mic "I do believe you, it's just a bit. I believed you the whole game, it was delicious" made me feel unexpected things 😳 I thought I was just a piglet, but I guess I'm on Jon's team now as well 👀😂

Kathleen Goetting

Hahaha I think that to myself too when I read the comments after making my way through the videos. I feel like it’s a similar passion to sports where fans will destroy athletes if they’re not perfect or make a mistake.

Kathleen Goetting

Hats off to Mara 👏🏻👏🏻 She’s just so excellent at this game, very fun to watch. I love watching everyone’s different playstyles, even and especially when they’re wrong. It would be a very boring game if everyone just figured everything out perfectly.

booksomewench

Bless Jon and his IMMEDIATE "ACAB ACAB ACAB! I kill myself!"

Buff_Tucker

Yay! Will this be the only online botc game this month?

Lee Dellbridge

I believe so as the YouTube ones are going to be the in person ones.

Lee Dellbridge

Blair is back, yay! Will be watching after the football and before Survivor Series.

Buff_Tucker

What a pity. I was hoping for a kickstarted, a regular and a patreon episode. Well, here we are. We'll survive on two episodes per month.

Jason Jacobson

I hope to watch before Survivor Series as well!

Worcanna

This creepy CBBC energy intro. Not right. Cursed game.

Rexx

Am I seeing things, or was that a Reggie Perrin clip that was used?

Julie dave

Ooh yay! My two fav things, NRB playing BOTC and cheesecake :)

Richard Dressler

!!!!SPOILERS!!!! I really thought Jon had snatched defeat from the Jaws of Victory

Crysarcher

Amazing patreon treat for us as always! Laurie nailed the storyteller bit, I was very spooked xD

Jac Adams

Hats off to Mara for her phenomenal work!!!

Jerry Franke

This one definitely had me screaming at my tv by the end.

Noony x33

amazing video! Mara fantastic job and Jon congrats I was rooting for yall! ♥

Joriss

This setup confuses me, we got 10 players yet the setup of 9 (1 minion 2 outsiders)?

Kyle B

Great game! Really enjoyable as always. POTENTIAL MILD SPOILER: I hope Sully actually had to leave at the time of exile, because it could be confusing for people to see a Traveller be exiled and also removed from the game at the same time, which are two separate things. Would suck for someone that isn't informed on Travellers to get the wrong impression on how they work. (An exiled Traveller dies, i.e. they still have a ghost vote and are still seated where they are. If they need to leave, then you'd remove them from the grim and they'd obviously not have a vote.)

Deej0304

MILD SPOILER: Felt really bad for Tempest on this one, he was in a bit of a pickle. Fair play to Adam for sticking up for him!

Steve Pellikaan

Tempest tends to get one idea in his mind at the very beginning and then never rethinks other possibilities. He thought his power was not good, when it can be very good when used well.

Mara Joy

Travellers don't count towards the player count for setup. They are additional extras. :)

Noony x33

do you know how often theyre putting out the in person ones?

El Garcia

Did I miss the convo when the Gossip turned?

Helen Kemp

In the comments on the Youtube video, Mara said that Brooke’s internet connection was very patchy, to the point where that particular conversation they (Brooke and Mara) had must have been irredeemable by the editors.

Helen Kemp

Monthly, I believe. Just like they’ve always done their BotC episodes.

Allan S. Hansen

Just what I need after the last couple of days - good ole blood on the rolls barred.

Tobias Wallbaum

Isn't there a "normal youtube episode" this month or am I to blind to find it?

Helen Kemp

The in person episode “Playing with Your Food” is this month’s public Clocktower.

Tobias Wallbaum

Ah ok. I thought these would count as their own and wouldn't affect the "normal" rotation. (Sorry for my English, I'm german, I hope you understand what I mean)

Lexicorn Fell

If you're looking for a kind-of-bonus episode, then I highly recommend the 'Fishbucket - No Rolls Bucketed' game on the official BotC YT channel, which features six NRB alumni, including the return of Isaac and Angela, and all three main scripts rolled into one, which is every bit as bonkers as it sounds.

El Garcia

Tech issues are always tough. Thanks for the info.

Meik Kebza

Yes there is. It is the newest in person one called "Playing with your food"

Anthony Boughter

Good lord! I should have read this sooner. I spent ages going back and rewatching that day to figure out where Brooke said it. 😂😂

Peter

Jon is such a Chaotic Good player
