I’m so curious about the important episode

Al

New Studio I reckon

Steven Hanley

Have you ever played Gloom? I think it could be fun on the channel.

Micah Newby

Everybody guessing new studio and here I was confident in speculating Lord of the Board 2

NMY

i feel incredible normal and calm about the phrase “important episode” 👀

I recall it was part of one of Adam's lists in the early days of the channel, so he at least knows about it.

Paul Harries

If Fun Facts isn't fun, I'll feel you guys are fibbers. I may never trust you again.😔

Worcanna Oakley

Is the important episode the one we know about due to the podcast? The "Startling lack of self awareness"?

Bre

A little sad there's no blood on the clock tower this month, but excited for house rules

It's on the 24th, right near the bottom of the list

Ka Man Chan

"After the success of Traitors, BBC has decided to air No Rolls Barred Plays Blood On The Clocktower on TV!"

Daniel Mumby

House Rules and bloopers? You spoil us Mr Ambassador!

Nah that’s fun facts and that’s just a comedic bit/certified holly musgrave moment

So out of curiosity did they ever say why list videos just died? I actually started following NRB for the lists and i miss them.

Unboxed is a good name to be fair

They've never said, but I would guess they're a lot of work to make (researching, writing and editing), and they possibly simply ran out of categories to rank...? I miss the list vids too, but it makes sense that they had to move on from them.

It’s highly likely. As with all of the other Patreon exclusive BGC content, they have all been online. That being said, Board Game Arena has a great online emulator which I assume they will be using.

I feel the same way; watching other people play games instead of me is fun and all, but I miss the informative content from the early days -- Collection Starter, Explained, Actually Good, Board Game Masterpieces, the history videos. Unfortunately, I think we're in the minority on that. Nobody has ever come out and said so (though it's been implied a couple of times), but it seems the view counts those were getting just didn't justify the amount of work/time/money involved in making them. Stuff like BGC and House Rules and (online) Clocktower are comparatively easy and cheap, plus they do better numbers, so they're what gets made. Might be nice to at least get some updates to existing Collection Starter lists at some point, though. A lot of the games they reference have gone out of print and become impossible to find since then.

"Important episode" in all caps with no other context is... confusing. How should I feel about this? Excited? Terrified? Melancholy?

happy to see tortuga 1667, the last of the dark cities series
