Lemme just slink in here with a Link.

Hang on, I'll do the post in a second, I just need to finish this Wordle.

Ooh, solid opening. Alright. Alright.

The plot thickens. But unfortunately for you, Dorothy, you aren't in Kansas anymore.

Sorry, kiddos. Your stupid little baby game is just too easy for me. Anyways, onto the post. For this one, listen to the smooth sounds of this ASMR:

(Provided by a friend.)

You might be surprised to see me again so soon. Legend says, ancient Chinese astronomers would use the conjunction of planets to predict events like the coming of rain, the birth of Great Men, the next time Kyde Animation would make a post, and when the next Gorillaz song that doesn't suck would be released. Well, as I said numerous times in the past, I'm trying to be quicker than the movements of the heavenly bodies. But this time, I'm actually acting on the things I say. Which is, man, just so weird. I'm so used to saying shit and not following-through on it. Am I... Am I developing character?

Speaking of Good Moral Character, this is Sadayo Kawakami, from Persona 5. You might be shocked to hear this, but I have played this game! Not a lot of it, but I have played it. I've actually been working on Persona 3 Reload. You might also be shocked to hear, that I actually like these games! Man, that is like the conjunction of planets, it's so rare for me to 1) Actually play or watch something, and 2) Actually like that thing. But yeah, super hot take, Persona is good. I mean, it is. I really like it. It's incredibly stylish, and I would say pretty approachable. A lot of people tend to be put-off by a lot of anime's weirder aspects, but Persona doesn't have too much of that. Except for Kawamommy. She's definitely in that category of "weirder aspect." For those of you who aren't familiar, in Persona, you play as a high-school student. In the first part of Persona 5, the main antagonist is a teacher at your high school who is sexually abusing students. Pretty heavy topic! It makes it pretty clear that, yeah man, that's like, not cool. I'm grossly simplifying it, but it's rough. I don't want to go more in-depth because the post might get flagged. Anyways, yeah, for the first dozen hours or so, your whole goal is taking down this teacher who is firmly established to be immoral and evil. Keep that in mind. If this were an essay, the thesis statement would be: "Being a teacher and sexually A abusing your students is bad, and you should be punished for it." Followed up by evidence of it being bad, with the conclusion being, you are taken down and punished for it. Now, Kawabunga is your teacher, specifically. It turns out, she's being blackmailed and has to work part-time as a sexualized maid to like, pay off the blackmail. Or something, I didn't get that far. You can hire this woman, your teacher, and then gradually pressure her into a relationship with you. They had the goddamn balls to do that. They devoted the intro of the game to establishing that this is wrong, and then let you yourself do it and have it be presented as a good thing. I don't even have anything to say about that. Normally I just lie and make up some crazy story about what the game or show is about, but like, I don't even need to, this is actually in the game. It makes my head spin.

"But KYDE," You observe, "we pay you to draw this stuff. You chose this as your career. I goddamn saw your work of women getting screwed by monsters. Are you saying this actually... bothers you?" Hey man, I'm allowed to have conflicting beliefs. Here's the weird thing about me. I mean, one of the weird things. Just fucking throw it on the pile, with the rest of the weird things. But, while I really, really enjoy drawing this stuff, I actually really dislike seeing sexual material outside of the sexual field. As a kid, I would look away and cover my eyes when two characters would kiss on-screen. As an adult man, I look away and cover my eyes when two characters kiss on-screen. God, I just know some fucking psychologist would take notes at that. Sexually repressed, or something. Fuck off, Freud, I can feel your ghostly eyes on my back. But yeah, I really don't like it, even when it's something that I myself would draw. Here's a perfect example. A while back, I animated a scene of Nemona, a character from Pokémon, getting her back blown out by a Vigoroth, a Pokémon from Pokémon. As far as I can tell, people liked it. I myself liked it. I had a lot of fun making it. Literally like, a few weeks later, my friend hits me up and says something like, "How do you feel about one of your animations being canon?" and sends me a link to that Pokémon leak. In said leak features a woman (implied to be) getting her back blown out. By a Vigoroth. I think impregnated, too. My reaction was something like "What in the fuck?!" even though I literally drew the exact same thing. Another example. A while ago, I was trying to watch War and Peace, while I had my headphones on in my kitchen while doing dishes or something. In that show are two characters who are brother and sister. Here is a dramatic recreation of my reaction upon seeing them start canoodling:

Of course, none of this shit applies to actual explicitly sexual material. I take a very "yeehaw" approach to stuff like that. I guess my belief is, "There's a time and a place for that." I know some people like the mix, I mean, fanservice is so huge, I personally don't like it. It's the same thing with people talking about their sexual experiences in person. Like, dude, I don't wanna hear about that. Oh wait, I know the word for this, prude. I'm a prude. Anyways, you'll probably hear this spiel from me again. There are a lot of other characters that I want to draw, like those Andy and Leyley characters, who I have a very "What the fuck" reaction to, but also want to draw that same "What the fuck" thing. You know what it might be? It like, takes the fun out of it for me. I like imagining up heinous things. It takes the wind out of my sails when it's already been done for me.

Anyways. This isn't the first questionable relationship option in Persona, though. In Persona 3 Portable, if you played as the female main character, you could date...

A n a c t u a l c h i l d .

In Persona 4, they lost their edge, I don't think there are any questionable options. 5 is pretty filthy with them, though. Krakatoa's on the top, of course, but you, a minor, can also date an alcoholic reporter lady. Just like, man. What the fuck. Get you a woman who remembers where she was during 9/11. What do y'all think will be the questionable option for Persona 6? Do you think they'll chicken out, or will they go full-hog? My money is on actual incest in the game. Adopted sister sounds like something they'd do, but fingers crossed for being able to lay pipe in your own mother.

Man, I don't know what else to say. I don't have any real jokes for this one. I guess now I should talk about the piece itself. I was definitely punching above my weight class with this one. It was really, really hard. I ended up redrawing just about everything about her around three times each. Also, I didn't bother making the background myself, I literally just took a screenshot from the game and edited the shit out of it.

Ignore the boy's leg there, I got tired of painting over everything. Sounds like a Japanese urban legend though, ooh, on some days, where you're fucking your own teacher, some say that the Ghost Leg Boy will walk into the classroom...

It was all pretty tough though. I'm glad it's over with. I dunno if this is like, good or anything, but I'm happy with it, and I hope y'all like it. I think that's all from me, actually. Well, I'll be getting cracking on the next thing, hopefully I can get it done in less than two weeks this time.

Until next time,

-KYDE

Hello, I have a question about your stuff! Do you also make video animations with sounds for subscribers?
