Don’t be fooled by her laid-back attitude and joyous spirit: Marika Fox had a very hard life. When she was 16, she had a baby girl—and when her boyfriend heard of the news, he was long gone. Clara was born with a terrible illness. For the first 10 years of her life, Marika took care of her daughter with the dedication of a saint. But Clara died and Marika never recovered. Now she lives in her trailer home, in Willow Creek. If you see her smoking a cigarette on her front porch, come to say hello.
