BAD END THEATER now available on google play (Patreon)

this has been a long time coming, but BAD END THEATER is finally available on google play!

as far as i know, there isn't a way to give out free copies (at least not in the same way i can with steam/itchio), but you can still download the apk through itchio via this link. this is my first paid app so i don't know what i'm doing yet, hopefully things will go more smoothly in the future.

to summarize my struggle versus google play (aka why this took so long):

it wouldn't let me set a price for a paid app, because i didn't have a connected "payment profile" (i made a google pay account attached to the same email, yet it wasn't recognized by the system)

a week long back and forth with multiple departments of google support ended in frustration, as they were unable to connect my current, completely functioning payment profile to my developer account

the only solution was to create an entirely new developer account, and transfer my apps (nerve-wracking)

i succumbed to burnout and gave up for a while

when i finally made the new account (which takes a while because they have to verify your identity) i transferred my games over (which took another couple days). the process went smoothly! (sidenote: i converted the old account to sofdelux studio, so mermaid splash and disaster log c are still on there under that name)

spent the past week getting ready to publish the game (review process generally takes multiple days as well) and now, almost 3 months after the port was finished, i was finally able to release!!!

in short: thank god it's out, and i hope it does alright!

going forward, my plan is to continue to release small games for free, and try to do big commercial releases every few years or so. after losing my job, i had to start thinking more seriously about monetization if i want to be able to make a living and support my partner. i'll be making changes to this patreon in the next couple months (more on that after i finish my next game), and i'd like to see if i can add some cute premium content to my free games (such as extra dressup options in starry flowers, since that's been requested quite a bit!)
