Once more, I thank you for you patience. This video was a SURPRISING labor of love. Turns out, Pikmin's gameplay loop makes recording and testing... difficult in ways I did not anticipate.

Though this is easily the most time a video of this length has taken me, I think it wound up as one of the densest videos I've ever made, with a number extremely technical revelations that I'm sure will be news, even to veterans. That being said, I'm sure for MANY of you this series is your first exposure for the series, and I feel this video shows a lot more of what makes the game so fun and satisfying to play. In either case, please enjoy, and rest assured, much of the work that went into this one has also gone towards assuring the future episodes don't take AS long.

Olimar is basically the mother of the Pikmin. Happy Mother's day, Olimar!

I predict there will be no end to the Futurama impressions.

Steve was warning Olimar of a bad future

My guess for why the Dwarf bulborbs death sound doesn't alert the regular large bulborbs is because that sound is one made by breadbugs which is what the dwarf bulborbs technically are. Meanwhile their alert Cry mimics bulbous young which alerts the big bulbous to wake up

Still a little salty I played through 1 and 2 back to back on dolphin a month before the switch ports got announced

Is it just me, or is the Burrowing Snagret's death screech oddly similar to the screech General Tsao makes in Sly 3 when he uses his magic in the bamboo forest fight?

To your comment about Olimar and not being a great pilot: I think it's a running joke (maybe his weakness) that Olimar is a bit arrogant. Some of his entries for the treasures in Pikmin 2 humorously tell how he has an eye for art and is self assured with the purpose of some treasures. (His entry on the rubber duck head treasure comes to mind). With this context in mind, I personally think the entry about the Extraordinary Bolt reads as the salesman playing on Olimar's arrogance. "A bolt so extraordinary that average people can't appreciate? Good thing I'm above average." It makes for a fun schtick as it contrasts his more sympathetic, intelligent, and inquisitive side. Also, Olimar designed one of the parts. I won't say which, but it would be fun to hear your thoughts on it

Great work, as always. Also, the Jesus joke made me laugh real hard.

I may have commented something similar on a past video but these projects are like an audiobook/movie version of an old Prima game guide. The custom made little enemy stat boxes are what made me think of it

The quirk about the map always pointing where you're facing is odd, but I always liked it because I learned to try and always face a common point of reference, usually the landing sight or a big body of water. It felt very authentic

Thank you for making this series!! So good. Small question, did you discuss the tadpole enemies in the water near the Sagittarius? (Maybe you did and I missed it?)

Raitab

I don't know if there's a dedicated space for pointing out typos or if commenting here is good enough... At 8:34 in the Spotty Bulborb tooltip, you have spelled it "Bublorb," transposing the "b" and "l".

Been looking forward to more of this series and I'm so happy I ended up subbing here. I can't wait for the Forest Navel. I found you through your Mario Sunshine break down and knew your content was perfect. Kingdom Hearts is one of my fiancés favorite series and Pikmin is my favorite series of all time. Watching you break down everything about one of my first games as a kid just makes me appreciate it more and more. I'm happy that you're doing what you're doing because it's so incredible. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into these videos! You're making some really amazing stuff!

Can’t wait for the next one. These are always so interesting and informative!
