Ha! From “take 7” to “take 8”, we went all the way from not-even-the-end of volume 2 to volume 4, skipping 3! So, with the way that the parallel stories at Midorigaoka High are structured, it appears that volume 3 will be what brings it all together in the remaining episodes, and I’ll just predict this: you’re going to be even happier with your time spent here Josie! So yeah, they almost finished up the Giichi and Kikuchihara story in 7, at least consummating it, but didn’t deal with the films by the second and third years yet, even though we now know they’re done…. And now in 8, Shion and Rei, especially Shion, are quite the additions to the cast of characters. Josie, since you’re making us wait so many days before the last two reactions, I’m gonna reread volumes 4 and 3, in that order this time, and reconsider the timeline. Anyway, I’m really enjoying how much you’re enjoying this series, and am also happy that you’re as anxious to get back to Mao and Hisashi’s story as I am… as they are the best!

A note to add… I love the quick throwaway joke when Shion is up in front of the film club introducing himself and his boyfriend quest, and at the end of it he asks Giichi if he has a boyfriend, and Giichi goes into one of this over-the-top denials which Shion immediately sees through “oh, so you do.” Haha Giichi, got you!!!!!

Lol Shion and Rei are a hot mess 🤣 and I'm here for it. We had the intense couple roomates to lovers first with Mao and Hisashi, then the enemies to lovers Giichi and Jin who were so hilarious, now we have the hot mess couple.
