Ossan's Love TH - Episode 4

I'm sorry to say Heng's child like attitude is starting to annoy me.😬

I still like the comic interaction between Earth and Mix; however, the story is getting irritating especially with the relationship between the Boss and his daughter. If this is an accurate Thai depiction of the Japanese original then I am glad I do not watch Japanese BLs. Not to pick on Japan (yeah right) but it is time for the old men (and I am old so I'm not old man shaming) sitting in the National Diet to support same-sex marriage. In Japan, polls show 68% to 72% of the population would support it. Old farts!

I'm actually kinda glad they've made some changes from the Japanese version. This seems really tailored to Earth's style of comedic acting. LOVING his facial expressions and little side comments ("Is this some sort of sitcom?"). Also loving grumpy/funny Mix as well. These two are so chaotic IRL, and it translates to this show perfectly. With the wife out of the picture, that eliminates the awkwardness of Boss's coming out story, and the daughter adds just the right amount of over-the-top drama to make this very distinctly Thai. I laughed out loud so many times this week! BTW, glad to see your back home safe and sound! See you next week!

I am in the minority here but the daughter irrated me (not the actress but the role) love Eatth and Mix but Earth character needs to stand up to his boss and tell him he dose not like him in that way. I know it the story and there are funny parts. Sometimes I get creepy feeling from the boss. I like all the actors just the characters are annoying 🙂

Mixxiw's rizz is off the charts (he stole Only Friends, in my opinion, with just a 60 second cameo) and even that is not enough to keep me engaged with this show. I am just waiting for his screen time and everything else is water torture, although I am glad that others like it because I would never want a Mix project to flop.

I still don’t understand why Heng refuses to reject the boss’s advances. He just acts crazy and goes along with whatever. So frustrating! It’s interesting seeing a different story with the daughter instead of the wife. I have to say the star jar was a sweet present… That being said, it would be a weird present if the person had no feelings for the person giving it. He’s very overkill and pushy with his romantic gestures. Mo is sweet and does less aggressive romantic gestures. Heng is so clueless!

The Japanese version was funnier. I remember laughing a lot. I haven't laughed in this one but I can't tell if it's because it's not funny or because I already saw the Japanese one. The daughter character is new to the Thai version. The Japanese show had the bosses wife and her weird story. There are at least two of the Japanese ones with different story lines but the same actors. There's also a sequel. All of them were very silly like this one.

I've never seen the Japanese version of this series, yet I'm familiar with the key elements of Japanese comedy. When I read Earth and Mix would star in this series, I raised an eyebrow about their suitability to perform roles in a screwball comedy. Surprisingly, Earth is very believable as the foolish man-child and Mix manages to balance his antics by playing the serious "straight" man. Of course, viewers have to suspend their judgment in accepting this story's ridiculous premise. And yes, a little goes a long way in this series, but I'm happy to take the ride because it allows me to chuckle a bit as I watch America plunge into utter despair (wink).
