As for me, here are my Top 10 Favorite Series of 2024:

1️⃣ Love in the Big City (KR)

-- This was hands-down my favorite series of the year. No other series unflinchingly depicted the reality of what it truly is like to be a gay man as "Love in the Big City" did. It sugarcoated nothing, and the result is a masterpiece that is going to be hard to rewatch.

2️⃣ Every You, Every Me (TH)

-- Though only 8 episodes long, this series packed a punch in every single episode. Top and Mick were far and away the best pairing of 2024, playing a total of 5 separate and uniquely different characters, sometimes playing multiple characters in a single episode. I miss them immensely.

3️⃣ The Sign (TH)

-- IdolFactory took a risk with this genre-bending series, and the risk paid off. We got everything from action, drama, history, mythology, comedy, and a heavy dollop of romance. This was an ambitious project, and I can't wait for the next series by this production company.

4️⃣ Love Is Like a Poison (JP)

-- Even if each episode was only 20 minutes long, this series managed to keep me captivated all throughout. It's one of the best examples of a tsundere character turning into a complete softie. The best scene was when Ryoma confessed to Haruto that the thought of living without him made his heart physically hurt.

5️⃣ Cherry Magic (TH)

-- This was my favorite GMMTV series of 2024. They managed to keep the charm of the Japanese original while successfully putting their own spin on each of the characters. Romance was abundant, and dare I say more heartwarming than the Japanese original.

6️⃣ Century of Love (TH)

-- I expected "Century of Love" to be good, but I didn't expect it to be as great as it was. I'm a sucker for reincarnation stories and love stories that transcend space and time, so this series was right up my alley. I have yet to be disappointed by a Daou-Offroad series.

7️⃣ Love for Love’s Sake (KR)

-- The science-fiction, gaming premise of this series was something I don't recall another KBL attempting, and they managed to pull it off very successfully. The twist at the end was heartbreaking, but I'm happy that they all got a happy ending -- even if it wasn't the one we thought we would get.

8️⃣ Ossan's Love Returns (JP)

-- Very few series made me laugh as much in 2024 as "Ossan's Love Returns" did. The 1st season was great, but this 2nd season was a truly impressive glow-up. Haruta, Maki, and Kurosawa will always make me smile and cackle.

9️⃣ Happy of the End (JP)

-- This was a heavy, dark series to watch, but one that has a special place in my heart. The abuse that Keito/Haoran went through as a child was tough to watch. Thankfully, he found an understanding partner in Chihiro, and we ended with the hope that they'd both help each other heal from their respective traumas.

🔟 Last Twilight (TH)

-- This was a beautiful 9-episode series. I cried in each and every one of the 9 episodes, and Jimmy and Sea proved that they had the acting chops to stand with the all-time greats of GMMTV. I'll always remember the final scene of the series when Day slowly loses his eyesight as he stares into Mhok's eyes -- the last image he'll see before he finally goes blind.

I'll try to do the poll a bit earlier for 2025 -- heavy emphasis on 'try'. 😅 Thank you again for voting! 🥰

I always enjoy comparing the preferences of different demographics -- YT, Patreon, and Tita :) Stand In, J&J and the Sign were all impressive and original. I thought that Wandee, despite a charming cast, was pretty weak throughout. Twilight started out so strong and was for me really disappointing in the end ( I felt they betrayed both characters in the last few ep.s). From Tita's top 10 I am especially happy to see Love is Like a Poison and Love for Love's Sake. Both series were so well written, acted, filmed, and imagined. I loved their shared eccentricity, poignance, and big hearts. And the succulents.

Last Twilight (all episodes) and Love in the City were miles ahead of the others IMHO.
