Season of Love in Shimane - Episode 6

Ian Clabon

Another good episode. I'm in the middle of a heat wave here in Connecticut, it was almost 100 degrees today, so I couldn't really watch this or anything else til late in the evening 😩. Skiing would be heavenly right now. The all natural, built-in angst of the story we had here coming back to the fore with this conflict of Pan and PJ's work ship, which was all going to have to be openly addressed for there to be resolution. It's fascinating to me that not much is going on in this series compared to others, but I'm still riveted because what silliness and romance and dramatic development there is is done well and feels real. We're going to get a happy ending this season, or so help me, but yeah, how do they handle it? I got the feeling that from how stressed P gets about his job, to fans now shipping the real couples on social media that Ton was seeing, that P could end up joining their company to be with Pan, but they decide to live there in Japan? We'll see. A 3rd season would have to take place in Japan again, right? I did definitely think that Plai's drunken dream had to be about Beboy from what he was doing in his sleep with the playful scolding and kissiness, as it seemed like he had to be talking to a boyfriend, or like he was reenacting a scene from last season (with Beboy). Beboy wasn't mentioned by name here, but the reference still felt very deliberate when it's seemed like the series intended to forget him, and it made me a bit sad, as much as I'm really liking PJ too. Ton is freaking hilarious and he's been a vital organic addition as this manager character for the drama and comedy. My only complaint is the toilet/fart humor isn't needed! He's perfectly funny without it, lol. And I can't with that preview! More hot silliness for the penultimate, as expected. And I did watch the cast reaction to the last episode... and I truly wouldn't be surprised if P and Pan were dating irl! From how they were acting affectionately suss together to how Plai was teasing and side-eyeing them knowingly while watching their scenes, I think they went method at some point and still are, lmao. They fell prey to their own insanely amazing chemistry! I love it, and I love them.
