Thailand’s Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, Passes Away at 93 (Patreon)

I just woke up and read the news that Queen Mother Sirikit passed away today. My deepest sympathies go out to all Thai people. 🙏

To help provide context for anyone who is not Thai, Queen Mother Sirikit was the wife of the late King Bhumibol (King of Thailand from 1946 to 2016) and mother of King Maha Vajiralongkorn (2016 to present day). Thailand celebrates Mother's Day on her birthday. Most people in Thailand were born after she became queen. Her passing is very significant.

Please expect that many Thai series will likely postpone the release of new episodes set for this weekend. No announcements have been made, as it is yet not even 7 AM in Thailand as I write this, but stayed tuned. For reference, when King Bhumibol passed away in 2016, Thailand was in mourning for an entire year. To hold any festivities or celebrations today, especially on the actual day of the Queen Mother's passing, would be unthinkable.
