I might be overthinking but I got the feeling that Noah has been more or less the awakened one since he was 12 when something happened to his parents or they drow him out beacuse of his sickness. Before that from 5 years old Noah and Yu shi might have shared their life but after 12 years old it was all Noah until the day he ran into Wu Zheng and Yu Shi found a reason to start living again.
