I think Cake and Rin would have eventually broken up anyways. If a guy had said the things she did about Eiw, Cake would have punched him. Her disrespect for somebody that Cake cares for so deeply would have eventually destroyed any love her had for her. It must have really hurt Cake to realize she didn't care about him as much as he cared for her.

I'm not discounting her feelings either but, I just felt like she made it about her and her feelings not his. He's the one who has to leave everything he knows behind. Plus her not liking cake was going to be a deal breaker. That's his person, she can't not like his person and expect them to last. Also they are too young anyway.

Totally. Age is a big factor. Yet, she wasn’t even sad, or tried to hold on. I get the possessiveness at that stage of life, they purposely tried to show that trait.

The way Cake's friends treat Eiw is fascinating. They always watch Eiw with interest when he comes to talk to Cake, but seem to avoid talking to him or coming too close to him. For such rowdy boys, you can really feel Cake's influence in the way they interact with Eiw.
