one wonders why I had a big depression and that I still have problems with people and their behavior! when I see how Pat's colleagues behave I understand it 1000000%!!!!!! this bunch of big assholes!! me pissed!!!!! and this Boss who says to Pat: I wouldn't want to get involved in anything that doesn't concern me!! but does it anyway

Alice

Very toxic work environment. But am glad they are showing what seems to be a realistic work place in this series

NLO

I was Pat 15 years ago, and I can still remember feeling very unfairly treated lol not adding the horrible colleagues. As someone in Jeng’s position now I understand. But… he is acting like a boss and not a leader. I agree with everything he said, however if a member of your team burst into tears in your office… that is most definitivly your responsibility to investigate the underlaying reasons to why. Also, expectations to the behaviour of junior employees needs to be communicated prior to meetings ect and not after. You cannot correct something that they didn’t know beforehand. Young adults stright out of school are unaware of their own inexperience. Jeng should also have corrected Nan as the senior personnel and not Pat + told her to stop touching Pat’s shoulders while mentoring. Looking forward to seeing how the series progresses, because I honestly HATED my boss at that time haha and can’t see a redemtion arc at this time xD

Silver

I agree that Jeng’s feedback was delivered constructively at the beginning. My take on Jeng is quite different than yours toward the end, though. He saw Pat at the bar and made an assumption he was playing and the work would not be done on time. He went in and made changes, making all the time and energy Pat spent missing sleep, meals, and social time wasted. Pat saved the day showing the client his original work. If he had run it by Jeng first, he would never have approved it given he didn’t like them originally. The client clearly liked Pat’s work over Jeng’s. The client was happy and left with a good impression of the company. The only reason for Jeng to be mad is his pride was hurt. That time, Jeng was the one letting emotions affect his work and not being a team player.

I was pleasantly surprised that they would spend this much time showing the office dynamics, but it did kinda reinforce for me why I decided to leave the corporate world. Lol. 😝🥰

TitaJosie

Yes, agreed. Lots to be improved on Jeng's part as a manager as well. Also agree, no redemption to asshole ex-bosses. Lol! 👀😬😝

TitaJosie

Ah yes, I can see that being the case. Pat was right too, Jeng was definitely micro-managing him and that is suuuuper frustrating as an employee. 👀😬

I agree with everyone about the coworkers, I really want someone to get rid of all of them. I also agree with Silver and NLO, I think Jengs critiques were okay in the beginning but they became very micromanagey at the end. As an office worker myself, I absolutely hate being micromanaged, if you've done your job as a boss and leader and provided me with all the tools I've needed to get the job done, then at least let me see it through to the end and trust me to get it done l. I do understand Jeng has people to answer to and responsibilities as well but one thing I can always pride my leaders on was if I broke into tears suddenly they'd definitely be alarmed and try to find out why that is rather than scolding me for crying and saying I am child. Jeng was trying to help him make it in the corporate world but there's a time and place and he didn't read the room. Tita Josie I love looking at your reactions because you always present a different perspective on things, I love it. I also loved your disclaimer that you weren't siding with Jeng because he's hot 🤣🤣🤣.

As for Ying at the meeting, she got what she deserved. It was inappropriate of Pat to speak up but, I bet it felt GOOD. Jeng is the boss and most of his comments to Pat are positive and constructive. Pat was given the opportunity to work on the new project which shows Jeng's faith in him. It was highly inappropriate for Pat to bring up the other slide Jeng was unaware of. You don't upstage your boss. As for Pat crying in the office. Really? Man up. He is a new employee. Then there is the question of micromanaging. Keep in mind two people are working on the new project, Jeng and Pat. I disagree Jeng is micromanaging. He is doing his job!

BTW - how did Nan know Pat is gay? Want to know the relationship bewteen Jeng and Put and Put and Pat.

Oh my gosh this workplace. Let me tell you Tita I’m currently working at a multinational company. This episode definitely hits home for me, I have cried, been micromanaged, and my manager has favoritisms. Feedback never works, and even my rating - it was lower than it should be. And frankly that’s the reason why there are like band of groups in the department. Most often than not really, people quit not because of the company but that of the people around them.

TitaJosie

Yeah I was confused about that too. It seems that Pat outed himself unnecessarily. He could have just said that Nan and him were just co-workers and left it at that. 👀😬

TitaJosie

Aww, hugs, John! Hopefully you can find somewhere better, or hopefully everyone who makes you unhappy there leaves. 💖

Nan was the best idea for Pat. With the amount of work his coworkers were lumping on him, he was hating his job. He finally had a smile on his face working with Nan. Jeng was a little jealous as well, Pat and Nan were becoming close and it was not part of why he paired them. Ying, oh my god, needs to worry about her own job now that Jeng has her and Pat working separately, she shouldn't have been relying on him that much to begin with. I agree with you, Pat does not need to share he's gay, it's no one's business but he outed himself because that guy was really disrespecting someone he has so much respect for. Jengs father is not warm and fuzzy. I get it's business but its his company he built shouldn't he feel something and beginning his son some sort of boost for working in a department he is trying to keep going?
