Our Skyy 2 - My School President - Episode 1

Crazy busy day, and I've only seen the first segment of the episode so far, (and none of your reaction yet Tita) but I have to say off the start, that the mockery of Thailand's military-imposed senate voting rules for Prime Minister is incredible timely and totally epic! This show has always had layers, and by adding this political dimension at the same time as re-dimensioning the show into another universe, we have undreamt of layers of mirth to enjoy this time. Now if only I can find time to catch the rest show and then your reaction before I have to call it a day…

That was ADORABLE!!!!! Really missed TinnGun and I loved the role reversal and that DANCE!!! Wow!! Now I want a Holy Lion!

I was most excited for the MSP episodes of the Our Skyy anthology, but while the Love Love Love song here is a banger, the rushing through of all the story beats and iconic moments has none of the impact and emotion like they did in the original series. I think they should have tried to give this its own story and identity, rather than just rest on the gimmick of the role-switching. And while I adored TiwPor before, Mark irks me to no end these days, so they held no appeal for me in this. I want nothing more than for Ford to take off on his own outside of this ship, I hope he'll get the opportunity.

Well the actors are cute. Would have preferred a look at Tinn and Gun after graduation (my opinion obviously). Doing a role reversal okay but way too predictable. A multiverse - doesn't match up to "609 A Bedtime Story" So far, for moi, the least liked of the firstfive 2 part episodes. Come on GMM TV you could have done better. Hopefully, "My School Principle" ends the high school themes.

This episode was super cute and it's like a trip down memory lane. To be honest, they are my favorite couple so I could literally watch them do anything and I would be happy. I love the new song. Of course it would've been nice to give us some new content but ill take what I can get at this point. Moreover, once you do such an outstanding job on a series, it's really hard to follow up as the expectations are so high. I'd rather them do nonsense stuff like this then give us new content that wasn't as good as the original, plus hopefully although not likely it always keeps the doors open for a true season 2 since nothing really happened here but I can imagine as actors especially those now entering college it would be hard to keep playing a high school student.

I was hoping for more than just a role-switch too. If it were a role-switch with some changes to the original plot, it would have been more interesting. 👀😬

I didn't like this first episode either. The idea for role switching had potential if they mixed up other things too, or changed parts of the original story. Keeping it otherwise the same was very boring. 👀😬

I agree. Out of all the Our Skyy 2 series, MSP is the one that really has the most potential for a 2nd season. 🥰

Yes, more of a compromise would have been the best route. They didn't have to change everything, but a little extra narrative creativity and better consideration of the pacing, would have made this feel like less of a cash-grab, lol.

I did get to late last night, and now I’ve just finished watching your reaction early this morning! Yup, the overall tone was one of cuteness, with lots of fun moments if not particularly big laughs. It was a good idea just to play around with the series and not take it all too seriously, so we have an apocryphal pair of episodes just to enjoys the sly winks (TiwsonPor in particular) to smile along with… …but I’ll go back to the political commentary. Gun’s appointment as School President was the most (and only) important thing in the episode. In the time since this was filmed, Thailand’s young people turned out in record numbers to vote, and they did so en masse for the Move Forward Party which promised to, among other things, de-militarize the country, open up its Monarchy for criticism and reform, and to legalize same sex marriage. The show’s cutting but poppycock explanation for how Gun is made President to a direct rebuke of the military’s rewriting of the constitution during its most recent term in government following the 2014 coup that installed the now outgoing Prime Minister. The military-backed government rewrote the constitution to add a rule that along with the people’s vote, represented by the 500 people who go to parliament on their behalf, a senate of 250 people, appointed by the military, also each vote on who will be the Prime Minister. Suddenly, having 251 votes from the elected representatives is not enough to choose the Prime Minister, now it’s 376 votes needed. #OurSkyy2xMySchoolPresidentEp1 makes a mockery of that undemocratic rule in a show that has now trended #1 on Twitter in Thailand for the 15th time, and worldwide for the 6th time. (No doubt today it will trend #1 again on both measures for Ep2.) It’s Thailand’s young people who are wise to the military’s overreach in their country, who are voting to take democracy back from the military, (who are voting for same sex marriage) and who are the vast majority of GMMTV’s audience. This is an audacious move to fortify young Thailand’s resolve to literally move forward. Here’s hoping the military understands that if they don’t respond to the people’s wishes, there’s going to be unrest that could get violent and ugly… and we all just want peace and love and democracy. Good for MSP for boldly speaking for that!
