I know I am about to start something. But this still feels like roommates who sometimes give each other sexual relief. How are they a couple? He treats Kenji as an companion to me and not the man he loves. Seriously. I had a good roommate of two years. I knew where she was born. I knew she was ostracized after leaving the jehovah’s church by her family. I knew so many intimate things and we were just good roommates. I still don’t see a couple. You don’t know anything about your lovers family after 3 years. It takes me out of the show. But Josie you understand more than me so I’m learning through you. He is not out and he is lying to Kenji. Is Kenji just a placeholder until someone better comes along?

I'm gonna chalk it up to them being from an older generation of Japanese men who are probably still acting according to how Japanese society was back in the day, even if they're both gay. Hopefully they'll be more expressive in either the later episodes or in the follow-up special/movie/S2. 💖
