Ahhh, I think I need therapy. I knew the Shadow was with Dan his entire life at least since childhood before entering this school. It’s like the ultimate grooming… how can you fight a God. Of course Dan’s emotions was manipulated. This was awesome. I love the writing. Dan has basically become the bride of the Shadow and Trin has been broken in that dark world. He will never help anyone again. For him, helping came with a cruel cost. If Dan was going to end up with the Shadow no matter what then maybe it’s good that Trin was able to escape.

That was way too heavy of a finale. I knew it would be Trin. Poor Dan never had a chance. I His whole life through no fault of his own was doomed from the beginning. Ah I'm so unsettled but great series.
