With how fast this story is coming to me, I decided to go ahead and fill the 2 chapter backlog before returning to BoC. The next 3SaBS chapter is already 3k words in, and growing quick.

For anyone reading Three Strikes & Black Skies, you'll know that Strider Squadron got their hands on a small patrol corvette as their first mothership. However, they all find the ship's name, Cinder, to be a bit underwhelming, so they need something new to call it. It's an old, dinky ship, but it's theirs, and it needs a good moniker to reflect that!

So how about you all suggest a new one? We'll take suggestions from everyone for the next two days, then I'll pick some for a poll. Looking forward to what you have to suggest.EDIT: Originally the poll was going to be for the Madlads and above, but upon further thinking, we'll let everyone in. I don't think 3SABS has the interest yet for the higher tiers to produce a good poll turnout. The discord-only subs will have their own thread on the server, and their votes will be added to the final tallies.

Phoenix is perfect. A ship that rose from the smoldering cinders of the last, for a team that each member is living some sort of second chance at life.

I mean Trigger fought Huggin and Munnin (in AC7) and now has Nidhogg (his AI), in a Wyvern... So a North mythology naming scheme is obvious. For me it should be the Valhalla, as the home promised to warriors that go down fighting - You know... Since Trigger "died" (is now in the "heavens"/stars) and it will now be his new home in his new life with warriors at his side.

"Dark Blue" The name of the final mission in AC7 and something the game talks about constantly. Throughout its runtime, the game keeps reiterating the question of: What does the color of the sky mean to you? It all comes to a head when Trigger is climbing from the Space Elevator, the Scrap Queen calls him and asks him, "Hey, Trigger, ya dumbass. Tell me something. What color's the sky up there?" He finally found his answer. It represents the freedom Trigger always wanted, the endless dark blue sky stretching out before him. The Arkbird with Nagase returning back from the Asteroid belt. And puts a bow nicely on the events and themes of AC7 coming full circle in this new universe.

Hmmmm how about as tribute to a Friend? Like how about "THE WISEMAN" or maybe "MISS COUNT" that second also counts as a Joke on a certain Someone inflating his Numbers hehe

The Safety. Or rather, Quiet Safety. Because you release The Safety when you pull the Trigger. Other name ideas include: Frieght Socks, Smoking Barrel, Deafening Silence aka the sound after you pull the Trigger, Loud Report, Whistle, Triggered Mink, Daggerclaw, Purpose, Loyal Dragon. Could also Call it Yggdrasil's Roots because it hosts Nidhogg.

What about 'Trigger's Curse'? It references Nidhogg being a reference to Nidhog, a curse-striker or literally a being that strikes with malice and the curse of being a soldier for hire, or a soldier in general. Pulling the Trigger is always a curse...
