the author can do what they like, of course, but i have to say i find sylveon quite uninteresting as an eeveelution. i dont get the appeal. the writing is still quality, i just think any other eeveelution would be more compelling to explore in a story setting like this.

Yeah? Why is that? It covers a major type weakness, while also putting an interesting spin on the game mechanics and lore associated with Sylveon. Plus if I'm not mistaken, Sylveon here is going to act as a good foil for Corviknight.

So Sylveon's characterization was beautiful, and I can see this being amazing. That said, 'I Will Touch the Skies' has left me a bit scarred regarding fairy types in fanfic. The fact that you've already characterized her as highly unlikely to become obsessed or cause jealousy issues is a huge plus in my mind. My only concern left is that I hope you lean more towards 'The Type Specialist' in fairy type psychology - that is, cheerful, kind pranksters, as opposed to Mab, Queen of Air and Darkness style psychopaths like IWTTS. Still, loved the chapter. Long may it continue!

I dont really care about the team composition aspect, aside from the choice of a sylveon feeling like phoning it in for a fan favorite type addition. but if you bring up team comp, its not really this amazing addition either. he has no real weaknesses to dragons, or fighting, or dark types. As far as dealing with dragons, sure its nice i guess but he has plenty of coverage with octillery, (future) luxray, (future) sceptile (or even mega), and corvisquire is resistant. you can mostly use the backstory the author came up with for many pokemon if you are looking for someone emotionally wounded. i feel there are many things you can do in a written setting like this to explore other pokemon with interesting blurbs rather than the straightforward fairy setup. hence, my finding the choice to be uninteresting. i can hope sylveon gets adopted by another hurt soul on the road, but seeing lee's actions to this point, probably not.
