Hey guys,

Happy holidays! I hope everyone is getting some much-needed rest and enjoying the season.

This illustration was a little challenging but also really fun to work on. I tried to fit everyone in. Akira and Ayaka are there too, just not in the frame. Reon is included because Satsujin is basically trying to win him back, and he hasn’t spent Christmas with the Tanaka family in a long time. Satsujin is also wearing Reon’s jacket, which is why it barely fits him, but honestly it still looks good on him.

Himari has always spent Christmas with them, and recently Ashanti has started joining as well. The two kids by the tree are Shufen, the one with black hair, and Hebi’s daughter. Shufen is the older one. He usually spends Christmas with them in Tokyo, while his mother stays in Osaka.

Eiko is there too, though she tends to tune everyone out and shop online once she’s done eating.

If I have enough time, I might release a short story for patrons based on this illustration. I think it would be fun to show how everyone interacts during the holidays. And yes, believe it or not, Hiro is the one who made all the food.

I typically don’t comment because I have bad social anxiety and overthink often but I wanted to say, I really like the vibe in this illustration. You can really feel that everyone is comfortable and having a good time and it really contrasts with their traumatic childhood and the dangerous job/life they have. I think it’s amazing they can still make memories like this 🥹 Are Yaseiji’s kids here too but not in frame?

And the way I spoke about seeing the sibling during Christmas on the last post 😂😂. Merry Christmas and happy holidays. This is lovely and despite everything you know canon wise with the known abuse and Job choice it’s somewhat nice to see a normal family gathering. Still sad that shoto not here but nice to know he’s where he feel wanted and safe.

Itami and Miharu are honestly couple goals 😭 A lot of the couples in the comic should follow suit. I only just found out his name means “death,” and knowing he’s an antagonist… with everything going on, I really hope Miharu and the baby are safe. I’m lowkey nervous 😭 I’m guessing he didn’t get his wish for a girl either since boys seem to run in the family. We didn’t see Saitama and Akemi’s child, but I’m assuming it’s a boy too, though I’d actually love for it to be a girl. Saitama has definitely had enough experience raising boys at this point 😭 I really like seeing all the different relationship dynamics, but I wanted more of Ashanti 🥲 , unless she’s quiet in those settings. I get why she’s not always there though, the environment can get intense, especially with the noise, so it probably isn’t the best setting for her. Still, I wonder what she does instead. Since she doesn’t have family and is an orphan like Akira, I can’t help but think about whether she gets lonely in the countryside in that big house by herself. Maybe she spends time at LGBTQ+ events or finds community in other ways. Also, it’s interesting how Baozhai (if that’s still her name, Shufen’s mum) talks so badly about Hiro but clearly still wants him. It feels very rooted in bitterness. I don’t fully know their situation, but trying to pressure him into marriage, especially when it’s obvious to any person he’s not over his late wife and already carries so much responsibility, comes across as really selfish. And if we’re being honest, it isn’t just about Shufen… she wants him for herself too. I do like that Hiro, despite everything, still emphasises respecting women and mothers - ‘you only get one.’😭 I also hope Ayaka is okay. I know she’s shy, but I’d love to see her get involved in things more. Meanwhile, Hinata might actually bankrupt Hebi at this rate 🤣 she needs to start spending some of Akira’s money too. It’s interesting how anything involving Hebi’s hair becomes serious. Even his immediately respect his wishes on it and the vibe from Hebi gets serious, which makes sense considering its connection to Sakura, it clearly means a lot more than just appearance. I also noticed Akira and Hikari weren’t really present this time, which stood out. I wonder what they were doing outside of the picture. I feel bad for Yaseji but if this is set during the chapters then he’s most definitely going to still try and get his revenge, however that may be, he lost Shoto(the brother I assumed he hung out with the most ) and now his husband( upon waking up Ichiban will be paralysed and dead and blind ), he loves the hardest so I know he’s going through it right now, I wonder how he’s dealing with looking after the kids and whether they are there, outside of the photo. Reon and Satsujin though 🥲 you can tell Reon is trying so hard not to care, but Satsujin can still manipulate him so easily for his own reasons. He does love him in his own way, but at the same time… he’s definitely trying to just get in his pants 🫩. I’m really curious how Satsujin hasn’t given Reon any illnesses considering how chaotic he is 😭 I do think it’s smart that Karasu (Su) stays out of that situation, and Reon doesn’t try to drag him into it either. Still… he must feel a bit awkward, right? He loves being around his family in general but… he’s constantly around his family’s partners. It might actually be time for him to get a girlfriend 🌚👀 He should follow suit from his uncle , they kinda have similar personalities too, I wonder if his partner will be similar in personality to Akemi, will probably be a lot older though due to foreshadowing. Also… they’re all kind of big, and I know sitting on the floor is traditional, but that must get uncomfortable after a while 😭 And lastly, I like the design changes for some of the characters - especially Hinata’s body type now 🤭 I’m pretty sure she’s around Shoto’s height too, so everyone must tower over her 😭 Also this is a random thought but I feel Hinata and Akemi would get along they kinda have similar personalities.😆 Miharu, Hinata and Akemi clubbing… I see the vision 😭ignore me.
