I’d like to preface this by saying I study psychology and am a therapist and love this artist and work and this is gonna be a lot but mainly just guesses! Ok just some Sherlock Holmes stuff. But up until this point it seems as though she killed herself or that’s what has been eluded too. The first letter of the part that was blacked doesn’t seem to start with S for suicide but rather it looks like an it could be a H. Like for Hiro. Of course it could be a t (maybe took her own life). But based on the way the Authors really prioritizing mental health and things like that I doubt they’d shy away from just saying Suicide. On top of that we don’t really know the reason why shoto not only left the clan but clearly snapped and regressed. Sure this could point to the violence dealt all throughout his childhood, but he was mostly resilient and it seems like with most there was a straw that broke the camels back so to speak. Not only did it repeat the generational curse of their half baked Oedipus complex (wanting to murder their father not be with his mother) it also created a split personality where it was no longer safe for the main personality to “rule”. I’ll use regressed 1 (R1) for medium regressed shoto which is his normal personality now and regressed 2 (R2) for deep regression which is his little persona I think this personality is called turtle only because I can’t remember the individual regressions names regressed 3 (R3) the one currently fighting to be the primary (the stabby stabby kill one). Ok so once again we know that at the sight of violence shoto breaks down now right as though he has PTSD. But he’s not scared when it comes to telling these people off rather it’s only triggered with some type of fighting. He’s not scared on the hand that he’ll be hurt by the way he’s acting because the point of the regressions are so that they can protect you. If he was scared of that then he would let R3 come to the surface to protect rather than him forcing his way up. In fact it seemed the little time R3 spent on the surface shoto broke down far worse. It seems to me that R3 is the one that holds the most memories of his mother his past and all the bad things. As we saw already R1 has no problem recalling other violent things about the syndicate in fact was perfectly fine telling you about their inner workings and stuff like that. So it’s not the memory itself of the Tanakas or violence itself that triggers shoto. If you’re with me this far this is where Sakura comes in but this is a lot I know lol. So going back to the beginning Hiro tried desperately to “show shoto a taste of what his life was like”. It almost seems he forgets exactly why he killed his father in the first place exacting the same type of sick preversions on Shoto. It seemed however that shoto “never learned” despite all the fucked up ways he tried to teach the head of the family. I haven’t seen much of Hiro but from what I have seen it seems as though he has Narcissistic personality disorder. Anyways we notice at a time that shoto doesn’t have many bruises on him any more and it seems as though Sakura has more and more. I’m assuming that Hiro decided to flip the switch and was like “oh it seems nothing I do gets through to you but you love your mother huh? You love your mother right? I’m gonna start hurting her Everytime you ‘fuck up’” (please be aware of the air quotes im using). Probably the reason shoto never made a mistake and trained harder than his siblings. Both because he couldn’t and because he didn’t want them to take his place. Now there is the point with that friend who died in the ‘light novel’ I’m assuming that Hiro had him killed or the friend from what it seemed was using shoto and Hiro found out. He was probably tested and asked if he would rather a higher position in the syndicate or money or something or shotos hand and so he went missing. I’m assuming this because it doesn’t seem that his father is necessarily homophobic as Icihibans relationship (sorry if I got the name wrong I have really bad dyslexia and I’m really bad with names lol). So now I’m assuming something happened. Maybe Shoto saying he would be leaving the syndicate or something else and Hiro killed Sakura and made shoto watch. This is probably the reason why Hiro says that “shoto is trying to get back at him” or things along these lines because he did something fucked too shoto. I have more theories and a broader explanation but I already feel this is too long lol. Once again I love love love this story, it’s depiction of mental health, and love <3 thank you for reading!
