So I wanted to look into this. I was fortunate to have help from AI experts to guide me on this one. And after they explained the situation, I realised AI does indeed pose serious risks to humanity - just not the ones being peddled by Big Tech hype-merchants and amplified by sensationalist media headlines. I hope this HGA helps to relieve people of unnecessary anxiety about future AI, and helps to refocus attention towards the present-day concerns of this powerful technology, which, if used well, could benefit humanity greatly.
