Dear PatronsWhen I shared our latest Honest Government Ad the other day, I forgot to mention that the Authorisation message at the end was actually spoken by Paul Watson, who recorded it from his prison cell in Nuuk, Greenland. What a f@!king legend This wasn't the easiest thing to do, as Paul isn't allowed a phone in his cell and can only receive 1 phonecall per day whilst in custody. So it took some nifty organising and maybe a bit of clandestine recording to make it happen. It means a lot to me that Paul made the time to do this under the circumstances, as it shows how much he appreciates and values us covering his arrest.Speaking of his arrest: tomorrow, the Danish government decides whether to release Paul Watson or continue to detain him for extradition to Japan. So this really is one of those all-hands-on-deck moments to defend a guy who has dedicated his life to defending the wild. If you haven't already, please add your name to the petition at freepaulwatson.org Since we published our HGA, we've helped add over 20,000 signatures to this petition. I love the Juice Media audience. If you weren't able to see or sign the petition the other day, that's because we broke their website by sending thousands of people there all at once. Woops. But the problem has been fixed, so it works now! Please share the petition and the HGA and stay tuned for updates by following @CaptPaulWatson on your socials and/or the #freepaulwatson hashtagUntil the next update, take careGiordano & teamPS. you're welcome to download this reel but I've also posted it to our insta, fb, tiktok, twitter and youtube pages to make it easier to share

Nice one Giordano. I've signed the petition and shared it with all my contacts in Linked In and here on Patreon.

Aww Dave thank you so much for doing that! (And I second Peter's comment above!)

Just an element to add, here, as it might be important to provide context to the legal battle. I'm reading that Watson's organization, compared to Greenpeace and others, supports (or has supported) property damage on ships. Not sure about international treaties, but part of terrorism scholars adds boycotting to the practices of terrorist organizations (see, for example, the Global Terrorism Database at University of Maryland). So, charges of terrorism might have some legal ground, I fear. Also, while it doesn't make sense to me that property damage is categorized as terrorism, in this case it means sinking boats. It is not clear to me whether sunk boats were staffed at the time of sinking, bringing people to risk their lives on them.

Which ships did he sink?

there's quite few voices reporting on this, although I've just stumbled on that, so no idea on the details. But apparently there's a quite known divergence between Greenpeace and Sea Sheperd on the way to conduct this activity, primarily based on the use of sabotage, so there seems to be some strong evidence that the question is there, at least. No idea on how to quantify the events when this happened or the modalities, tbh. If anybody's got better information I'd like to know. Anyway, here's an example. It talks about an unmanned vessel, so no risk for the crew: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_Hvalur_sinkings PS: just to be clear, I actually signed the petition and sent the mail to the EU as of the form in the website, so I'm not here to say "do not sign" or anything like that. I just mean that legal action to save him from extradiction might be hard. Also, I didn't do some due diligence by getting information about the organization prior to acting, which is a bad practice.
