Dear Patrons - here's an audio preview of our next Honest Government Ad! It's called Visit Timor-Leste - but really it's more about Australia and Australia's foreign policy towards our poorer neighbours in the region. I'm really excited about this one; I love the "Visit" HGAs, even if they are much harder to write - and this one was especially so because damn, it's such a crazy convoluted story. In fact unless you're already familiar with the issues mentioned, you might struggle to follow the audio without the visuals - but don't worry, it will all be clearer in the final video!Anyway, enough rambling... I need to get back to editing so I can drop this HGA on Monday morning - which is also the day of the next hearing of Witness K's trial. (Coincidence??!)As always, your feedback is greatly valued - you're the first peeps to hear my vids before they're released into the wild!Have a great weekend and catch you on Monday / in the commentsGiordanonb. as always a reminder that you're not being charged extra for these previews, they are part of your rewards if you're supporting us with $3/month or more :)

Another great piece of work. The only little detail that didn't work for me in this audio was the use of "fucking" the first time there was a reference to stabbing them in the back, which said: "stabbing them in the fucking back". I always love the f-bombs in all its variations, but this one I think somehow is a bit of a distraction from the full expression "stabbing them in the back". I think this line/expression is clearer and even more forceful if you remove the "fucking". I've never found the use the f-bombs gratuitous (they always add force and/or fun to the script), but somehow this one doesn't work for me. Just a comment. I look forward to the release of the video. Keep up the great work!

thejuicemedia

Thanks Benito! (Re the "fucking", it's a bit late for me to change that now, but I appreciate the feedback. Usually, my use of f-bombs is quite judicious - I'll have to check my settings!)

Josh Bowman

Have to agree with this one, that first one doesn't feel like it fits for me either. I can see that, because you added 'friendly' to work with 'fuck' but perhaps it's better just saying 'we've stabbed those lovely people in the back'. It may also be the tone going up at the end of the sentence rather than being a definitive and the tone going down. Stellar work though, I should add!

thejuicemedia

Thanks Josh, glad you like it - and thank you also for the feedback re that line. Hmm... sometimes I can tweak some words by getting Lucy to re-record a line and edit the actor out of the shot; but in this particular instance it would seem odd to edit Zoe out of at that point (and of course re-filming isn't really an option on my current budget). But leave it with me and I'll see what I can do. I appreciate the feedback!

Josh Bowman

nah man all good, just some feedback for next time :)

Troy Harris

This one sounds fucking brilliant! Haha.

Ragnarok

Another brilliant HGA. Can't wait for all the visuals.

Troy Harris

And to clarify what I meant by brilliant, I mean how you've destroyed our amazing leaders, not the current plight of the Timor people.

Jack

In a good way - I recently watched the 4corners exposé ('Drawing the Line') on the Timor Sea... it truly is mind blowing.

thejuicemedia

Cool :) hopefully it will come across better with the visuals

thejuicemedia

Cheers Ragnarok! This one took me ages to edit - the visuals play a really important function in terms of telling the story, so I spent a lot of time trying to get it right :)

thejuicemedia

Oh damn, I missed that lol - thanks for letting me know

T

Wow. Nicely done. I am really looking forward to the visuals. (I'm impressed with the volume of corruption you managed to squeeze into 150 seconds. It takes governments years to generate that much corruption :-)

thejuicemedia

Haha! actually, the videos are normally 120 seconds or less, so effectively the only way I managed to squeeze all that corruption in was by making a longer video!

thejuicemedia

Yes I saw! Let's hope Labor doesn't vote against it this time - like they did all the previous times!

John Paterson

HGA you just improve with age. Thanks very much.

John L Smith

Great work as usual. Very easy to follow even without the visuals.
