This one is part of our Climate Shitfuckery Series - a series of Honest Government Ads focusing on climate and energy policy: we covered the Kyoto carryover credits; then EVs and the "Future Fuels Strategy" aka FFS.. and now it's time to shine a light on GISERA. Not many people have heard of GISERA - the alliance between five of Australia's biggest gas/fracking companies, and the CSIRO, our trusted and beloved science agency. But that's about to change hopefully, now that we've made an Honest Government Ad about it. And that's a good thing because it's extremely concerning when Governments allow the country's scientific agencies to be infiltgrated, hollowed out and parasitised by companies which have a massive interest in playing down the harmful effects of gas mining and fracking - on the environment, our health, and of course the climate crisis.The scariest thing is that many CSIRO scientists say they're unable to communicate their research fndings to the public; or to speak out about this bullshit for fear of losing their funding, or even their jobs.  So I thought we should lend them a hand. Coz at a time like this, we absolutely need our scientists to be able to do their jobs.Thanks for your patience. I was planning to publish this before the end of June, but for this one I really wanted to make double-sure we'd crossed all the deeds and dotted all the lies before publishing.For this episode I also spoke with a former weather forecaster from the Bureau of Metereology who left the BoM precisely because of what they saw was happening there.
