Dear PatronsAfter a much-needed family break in January, we're back on deck and ready to face 2022 - which is already shaping out to be another cool and normal year.So let's get straight into it. Here's the audio preview for our first Honest Government Ad of the year.I was going to publish it yesterday, but we decided to hold off due to the tragic situation unfolding in Ukraine. And also because Clive Palmer was rushed to hospital the other day, and it didn’t feel appropriate for that reason either. So while we wait for the right moment, here's the audio preview.Hopefully we'll publish it soon, but just in case we need to hold off a little longer (for the above reasons) I'm making this preview available to all of you - not just Patrons in the Previews tier. That way, nobody's left wondering what happened to the February video. As always, let me know your feedback on audio levels, clarity, or anything else - it helps me to make the final tweaks :)Why am dedicating the first Honest Government Ad of 2022 to this topic? (Some of you – especially our international Patrons - might be wondering)Well, as you probably know we're headed for an absolutely crucial election here in Australia, which will have global consequences especially in terms of climate action. After the 2019 election I experienced a sinking feeling when I realized just how influential Clive Palmer’s massive election ad campaign had been in shaping the outcome of that election, by helping to return the Morrison government to power for another 3 years. In our coverage of that election, we focused intensely on the government’s policies. We made some great videos, which I'm very proud of – including our HGA on Preferential Voting. But I felt like we failed to focus on the Clive factor. This election, Clive has promised to spend even more money on election ads.So that's why, this time I'm dedicating our first HGA to the United Australia Party before we focus on the government's shitfuckery. We may not have the millions of dollars Clive uses to reach people; but we do get millions of views. So I thought the best way to kick off our 2022 election series would be to help counteract the UAP’s disinformation campaign with an Honest United Australia Party Ad.I’ll catch you very soon when the video is published.Til then, take careGiordano

Great work! And I own one of those T-shirts :)

Robert Bismuth

Brilliant!! Can't wait for the video ... and appreciate your sensitivity about when you released this to us. Given horrific times in the Ukraine, the distraction is welcome - and it sounds like you have having a horrific time with the election in Australia!

Ash Brown

thanks for this one it's great I will as usual be putting it out everywhere I can so everyone knows about it the sound was good at least to my ears, thanks for all the hard work you do on them

John L Smith

Another great ad, and way past time for Palmer to be called out on his bullshit! Wondering whether you could add something about Craig Kelly, who is running for the UAP in NSW, supporting the RWNJs at the Convoy to Canberra and inviting them into Parliament House?

Mark D Larsen

I confess I know very little about Australia's parties and candidates, but… it sure sounds like our political system has been cloned Down Under. I'm sooooo sorry!

Ellejoy W

Thankyou magnificent juicy geniuses, I hate that wage thief with the fire of a million suns and it is refreshing to see (hear) the 2 asshats get accurately called out for their bullshit behaviour. And thankyou for your sensitivity regarding Ukraine, Russia & the asshat needing hospital. Thankyou for opening to all patrons. Lynda

Peter Todd

Savage and justifiably so. Great work as always!

Kim Hillier

Black and Gold Home brand. And it works. We have to hand it to Clive. There's been this massive leadership vacuum in Australian politics ever since Uncle Johnny lost the plot, and all Clive had to do was turn up with a cheque book. It's still working.

Gina Meibusch

So glad you pulled out the big C word for this cunt ❤️❤️

Ken Weeks

Great work. However, I think this man is very dangerous and suggest you do another on the UAPs shitfuckery in a few more weeks.

Ben

Way to show empathy to someone and their family who would not offer the same. Looking forward to listening

Alan Marel

Terrific! Perhaps you could mention how Palmer was pushing for Hydroxychloroquine to be approved for Covid treatment, so he could flog the 1118 kgs that he bought, despite it being rejected by all medical experts and all the scientific evidence.. You could add to that Kelly’s unwavering support for a parasite drug ( ivermectin) that has also been rejected as useless against Covid.

Raymond Martin

Love it. Thanks Giordarno, and family. Look forward to the video.

Gary Willson

Excellent points Giodarno. How do we get the disaffected who are likely to listen to Clive's crap to actually understand this? I am not sure that they are the demographic that are likely to be listening to your podcast. I suppose all you can do is put it out in the Metaverse.

thejuicemedia

I think you’d be surprised how many people who watch our videos have been sucked in by the UAP. So we should have a decent amount of cut through. That’s my hope anyway

thejuicemedia

I did consider jt Alan, but I decided to avoid these issues because people who believe these things tend to inhabit a parallel universe of “alternative facts”. So I thought it would be best to instead show how dodgy and misleading the UAP is - such as their claim of being the same party of Menzies; and Craig Kelly’s voting record - which are indisputable and there for anyone to see. When presented with these things, hopefully people will start to question the UAP’s other claims re alternative covid “cures”

Alan Marel

Fair enough. What you’re done is , as usual, fabulous. Love it!

David Aronsson

It may be about a local issue, but we all have the party that use fear and build on anger to redirect it to empower the 1 % further (and being payed by the 1 %). If its about the political elite, immigrants, covid or cost of fuel doesn't seem to matter, it appears its the same in Australia as here on the other side of the globe. Thanks! (and a thoughtful move to hold publishing)

Peter M

Thanks Juicers, unfortunately seems like misinformation and disinformation is really going to be rife this election season, though perhaps covid effects will fade a bit. Good to see some going hard on Clive and Craig, they really are preying on peoples misfortunes an fears, with a ridiculous amount of money to waste and muddy the situation.

geoff bunker

Thanks Juicesters, nailed it once again! I just don't understand why nobody has blown up that mean-spirited blubbering fucktard in the little red sports car. It is sad that our country tolerates arsehats that don't pay their workers but justify spending that money talking themselves up and ruining the lives of so many.

ess

Yeh it’s angry. But then we’re all angry to one degree or another by now. And some serious calling out is more than justifiable at this point - not least of the pricks walking amongst us who now feel emboldened to say & do whatever they want, and fuck the consequences (or lack of them). Therefore my only proviso is that, at some stage, sane and still-decent Australia will need to be mindful how, collectively, we’re going to dial back this negativity. For now though I’m 100% down for this if it succeeds in cutting through to enough swing voters to get us that Hung Parliament. And on that, it’s on us Patrons and others to ensure we post links to Honest Government Ads such as this one & otherwise promote them as widely as possible between now and election day. Time to fire up

ess

Excellent point re. the need to reach protest voters; feel free to join a few of us who have started jumping in whenever we see on social media UAP candidates & others pushing that Topher marbles vid - and instead promoting our Hung Parliament & Pref. Voting ones, stressing they are not only far shorter but MUCH funnier.

Jon Gray

Awesome ad. It's great that the non payment to Nickel workers gets a mention. I love the focus on their misinformation and the general not giving a fuck about the lies they spray. I'm wondering whether his focus on coal mining and the Galilee Basin warrants a mention. To me it's a huge red flag that should disallow him from holding public office.

Ron P

The simplest way of achieving a Hung Parliament is to put the Sitting MP last on your Ballot Paper. Do that at each and every election, until whoever has won the seat at the previous election has proven themselves worthy of your support. Put the other Major Party candidate second last, and fill in the other boxes as you wish. How easy is that:-)

Neil O'Brien

👍 Ron P is spot on ... 1.Voters are sick and tired of the continual barrage of Disinformation and Misinformation from the two Two Party Federal Government: both of which (as we all now know, are also heavily funded by MSM and the Fossil Fuel Industry. 2a. Many Many More Voters would like to vote for their Local Independent Candidate who has put themselves out there, to be elected by the People to Serve the People! AN INDEPENDENT HAS NOT SWORN ALLEGENCE TO ANY POLICAL PARTY LINE OR RELIGIOUS SECT. 2b. VOTERS WANT TO KNOW Exactly HOW TO VOTE FOR THE INDEPENDENT WHO IS PREPARED TO CROSS THE FLOOR ON IMPORTANT ONGOING ISSUES THAT AFFECT THEM PERSONALLY! 2b. Could someone please correct Ron P if he is wrong! 3a. Voters (including the growing number of People who speak English as a Second Language), and too, Early Postal Voters are also on the rise - primarily due to COVID. 3b. Relatng directly to 3a. NOW IS THE TIME TO STAY FOCUSED AND CUT OUT THE SARCASIUM & the "C_" word - all said and done ... New Australians are also Voters, and they come from all over the world and have no idea about "Australian Sarcasium" & "C_" Words - Neil P

Hi Giordano, just wanted to clarify a couple of things about Fatty McFatToad. If you look beyond the Murdoch and 9 Fairfax rubbish, Fatty wasn't "rushed" to hospital, He was 'taken' or 'transported' to a Gold Coast private hospital for a covid test as he was presenting with flu like or covid symptoms.

Bunga

To add further, I find his hypocrisy to be outstanding. Fatty is an outspoken anti vaxxer. He has stated in court he is not vaccinated, never intends to get vaccinated, believes that the covid vaccines have not prevented illness or any deaths and if possible will repeal vaccines laws/mandates, etc. The majority of the population has done the right thing by getting the jabby jab, following the rules, lockdown, etc. But Fatty McFat Toad thinks he's above all that. When he gets a little bit sick, calls an ambulance which is part of the health system and goes to hospital (for a covid test) which is also part of the system that promotes the jabby jab and doing the right thing by the rest of the population. How can he justify his words and actions? Fuck with holding anything and fuck that fat piece of shit.

ess

That mention of us all being angry at present...!! I'd merely add the importance of directing it where we can have the most significant impact

Charles Golson

Hi Gang. Love your stuff....... any chance you can do some stuff on the American situation - Trump, the GOP, the "base", etc....... the ground is fertile here for some good stuff. Thanks again for what you are doing.

John Elgin

Not enough is made of the fact that his aim last election was to ensure the LNP stayed in power to ensure his access and development of his coal interests in the Galilee Basin, he didn't give a shit about winning, just influencing the election to the party he knew he had bought off to make him richer. And he won big time. Repeat

Mik Scheper

I've seen his billboards in marginal seats in NSW and Victoria. I wish we could get some Juice Media billboards right next to them. Let's start a fundraiser? Can somebody grab Clive's credit card?

Mik Scheper

Hey, while Palmer is a sack of shit, I respectfully ask you tone down the fat-shaming. There are plenty of other things we can legitimately call him, without implying people's body shape reflects on their character at all. Some of the most motivated and community-focussed people I know are pretty chunky, and maybe you know some, too. Cheers.

Mik Scheper

Disagree about 'the "c" word'. People who freak about that aren't interested in substance, so they're a lost cause. I think it's better for us to express ourselves freely, and get the attention of similarly frustrated people.

Mik Scheper

Yeah, how easy is it? As far as I'm aware, we don't have control over that at all, so not easy.

Ron P

Hi Mik- I'm not sure what you mean by "...we don't have control over that at all.." Have a look at Giordano's excellent video on Preferential Voting from last year; it explains everything perfectly. Perhaps you are thinking about the previous rules for Senate Voting, but that has been largely reformed since those dodgy old days.

Mik Scheper

Um, I'm not sure what you're referring to, Ron. Did you mean to send that to somebody else? Cheers.

Ron P

No Mik, I was wondering what you thought we "don't have control over"? Perhaps you were referring to getting a Hung Parliament then? More than a few of us would like that.

Robert Rathbone

Thanks for making a stand with the Honest Government Ads, while a liberal dose of expletives adds spice to the message, this one seems a bit extreme in that regard.

Chris

I would recommend not using the C word. Otherwise great

ess

Mik Scheper, on the specific issue of decent Independents this election managing to attract the No.1 or No.2 preferences of as many usually-right-leaning voters as possible: On reflection I'd support Neil P's reaction that 'cunt' is too strong (although perceptions of sarcasm in HG ads I don't have an issue with). That said, the word is only used at the very end of this video & it's done now so let's move forwards eh

ess

I've posted my reflection on this beneath Neil O'Brien's comment - i.e. no problem in general, but poss. tactical justification in the lead-up to this election. I do also see people online posting the link to HG ads & adding "Language warning!" which I think fair - will even attract some of those who wouldn't otherwise access us.

brian hopper

....have to agree with Chris here Giordano... 'malevolent/ calculating / vile pricks' will go just as nicely...and yes... they WILL come after you... so DON'T give then that free kick...

David Bailey

Yes - drop the c word - its grates like a UAP ad in PalySchool

Ron P

Y'know, I never ever knew such a word even existed; until Scomochio became our local MP here in Cook... And then when he became PM, I even started using it myself:-(

Mik Scheper

I'm wondering, too, so I'll need more context. Again, what are you referring to?

Mik Scheper

Oh, I found it now. I'm not sure if the Patreon app is bad at showing threads, or if you replied to the wrong message, but anyhow, the thing we don't have control over is what order parties appear on the ballot paper. That's up to the AEC, and I think they just randomise it.

Argus Tuft

I say leave it; in the Australien vernacular it has a specific meaning that's totally appropriate to the target. I, for one, am totally pissed off at the cultural colonisation that's being jammed down our throats by all and sundry along with the progressive destruction of of our own unique Oz language. Does anyone still remember rhyming slang or our beautifully descriptive terms? And as for reaching out; bah, bullshit. Have a nice day; go carnally know yourself. Free gift;
