The overhead angle in the establishing shot is an interesting choice, considering that we had a character-level shot of all three of them at the tables a couple of strips ago. Maybe this clarifies Joe's sheer size and the subtleties of which shoulders are angled which way: Jennifer away from Joe; Joyce towards. Jennifer gives a forefinger gesture as she slips in a Star Wars reference, which seems to be something she does when she's comfortable with people. This is probably how Raidah and Carl heard about Kit Fisto. Joe probably doesn't know enough about Jennifer's history of sneering at Star Wars geeks to be surprised—he has genuinely never heard of Chrysanthe Tan. Yes, I looked her up: "Hello there! I'm Chrysanthe Tan (Xanthe), a composer/violinist who loves Star Wars more than anything in the world." Certainly a Jennifer fellow traveler!

Recalling best I can from several months back, I think the overhead angle is because I needed an establishing shot of all three sitting down (as immediately switching to close-up shots including Joyce among them suddenly with a back-of-chair backdrop behind her felt like it'd be disorienting), and an overhead shot would be a less tedious way of drawing them all sitting down from head-on again.
