Until, like, three hours before I put up the strip for this day, this is what it looked like.  I thought the strip needed a punchline/cliffhanger of some sort, because otherwise it's just another nigh-identical panel of Sal singing, and even if that's better for the story -- letting this moment land -- it just kind of *looks* lazy?

But the day before it published here, I realized....oh.  If I replace the final panel with an extreme crane shot or zoom-out of some sort, that solves the problem.  The moment I want lands, and it doesn't look like I copy-pasted myself through it.  And Marcie gets her walk-up in the following strip, and nothing needs to be changed further.    And, really, that last panel is friggin' crammed.  The wide shot lets things breathe.

oh and for like six seconds this was the final panel, but it didn't last:

you're not gonna get much more song with this happening

i mean, and not 'cuz of amber, but 'cuz danny's gonna be running off to see how she is, the end

She was always with Malaya, there's just not enough room to show her.

I love insight like this. I'm so very glad to support this comic.

It was better to leave Marcie for the next day. It leaves focus on Sal where it belongs.

I liked the way it went up a bit better because by doing one strip on sal, the next with more (Amber + M&M), then expanding it to the rest of what was going on, it felt more complete. It felt animated transition of a grown up show. Like it literally feels like I was watching it, rather than reading, and allows to tie in and transition through super professionally. In fact, I remember reading years ago where people were sayin that "it's Walky" is your magnum opus. But seeing all of your characters here, and how they've grown. How you can write multiple people and give the enough time to focus on each one, and sequences like this on top of the great arcs thay lead up to them... I'd say they are dead wrong. You've really grown with your craft and it shows, as much as I like your older work
