So it's only recently become apparent to me that we're maybe not supposed to like Penny. Even though she's based on a more serious villain in the Walkyverse and her presence here has been one of mean-spiritedness and moral disregard, I dunno, I haven't seen her Dumbiverse version as that bad. Maybe it's just that her brand of evil loses enough of its edge when she's downgraded from murdery shadow bureaucrat to harmless math teacher. Maybe it's that despite the bad ethics of sleeping with students, it the kind of victimless crime that can be easily forgiven of fictional characters. Maybe I'm just a sucker for an evil cute redhead. I've just kinda mentally sorted her with the charming assholes like Mike, Carla, and Malaya, rather than the true villains like Ryan and Toedad. It's only been her being put on a bus and Willis' comments on Twitter that are making me look around and go, "Oh, wait, was I not supposed to want to see more of her?"
