Back when I worked retail I learned a trick that let me lift a stack of boxes even taller than that with no difficulty. You just empty the boxes first, and then seal them back up.

You know, lifting from the butt is very impractical. Waist or under the shoulder (with one hand on a butt cheek if you want to hoist them over your head) is far more effective. With this in mind, we can assume that either A; We are seeing this from Marie's perspective and Malaya is saying to grab her waist, or B; Malaya wants Marcie to grab her ass... I know which I prefer.
