The picky eater life isn't easy...but hey, it's home.

MirandaTam

I hope one of these days, Joyce gets introduced to Annie's. (white shells and cheddar, orange shells and cheddar if I'm feeling adventurous) (... alternating with kraft so I have some "variety" in my diet) (I hope joyce has found out about the wonders of gummy multivitamins, too)

Sandra Roberson

Friends and I have been discussing Kraft the last two days (not having discussed it before!)

Daniel Adams

Someone should introduce Joyce to Ramen. The packaged stuff outside cup noodles is just broth and noodles, perfect for her in the Winter.

Rubia

One of the rare occasions my own picky habits make me the anti-Joyce. I dislike mac 'n' cheese, though I'd probably eat some if you put it in front of me.

Dan Rabin

By the dawn's early light.

"If I had a million dollars We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner But we would eat Kraft Dinner Of course we would, we’d just eat more And buy really expensive ketchups with it That’s right, all the fanciest ke... dijon ketchups!"

Minzoku Bokumetsu

Earlier I couldn't eat mac & cheese for the cheese NOW I can't eat mac & cheese... for the mac =( HEALTH PROBLEMS SUCK

Fart Captor

What the heck kinda college student has TWO bowls??

Maude Reads Things

Sadly, unlike with general pickiness, I cannot relate here. Allergic to the mould in cheese. Sorry, Joyce, you're on your own.

The Balloon Animal

"Name the night and I'll clean BOTH my bowls" Oh hey Joyce and I flirt the same way, that's cool

James

Just because you only eat 2 things doesn't mean you can't eat a lot. Take it from someone who's both obese and also has Arfid.

Drazi

Fudge, I know that song. Is that Arrogant Worms?

Mike Chapman

Both her bowls? Does she not let the 'cheese' touch the macaroni?

Andrea Andrew

Thank you! Exactly what I thought!

emmavoid

@Drazi, It's Barenaked Ladies!

Some Ed

The kind that doesn't let their macaroni touch their cheese.

Sydney Ashcraft

She's not going to go to the extreme and heroic efforts to cook to just watch Dorothy eat the entire box! Joyce gets a bowl too!

Some Ed

As someone who's lactose intolerant, I can assure you that it is in fact cheese. It may not be good cheese, but it's definitely congealed dairy, and thus cheese.

RacingTurtle

I’m not denying the romantic undertones of Joyce’s affection for Dorothy, here, but…do y’all never make food for a friend? That sounds so restrictive

Diane

Man, this just reminds me when easy mac REQUIRED you to pour the macaroni in your own bowl, and you had to measure with a real measuring cup or guess the amount of water today, rather than "fill to line, stir like mad and pray it doesn't over boil". I lived on those in high school.

RacingTurtle

Gotta have precisely two bowls. The bowl-related diet of a college student is too much pressure for a solitary bowl. What if one is unavailable?

I have friends who enjoy cooking and will cook for us when I'm over. I think when someone who doesn't enjoy cooking or have a core competency in it makes the offer, as with Joyce here, it changes things. Like, I can't cook to save my life. I'd offer to nuke some hot dogs or something if a friend's over and we don't have money for takeout. I would never offer that unprompted or in a situation where food isn't a pressing concern, let alone call it magical.

*ahem* Evidence that Willis hasn't abandoned my ship

Dev

I think it's also different when there's a specific dish involved. Kraft mac & cheese is obviously a ridiculous example, but Joyce clearly believes that she's exceptional at making it and wants to share this. That doesn't inherently have romantic undertones.

ValdVin

Start with the the mac & cheese. The fighter pilot training, and cartoon show, will come later.

Gwemmie

I'm generally not into junkfood and prefer homemade over most things that a hippie might inaccurately call "fake", and I even grew up on a much healthier brand of mac & cheese than Kraft. But even I have to admit, Kraft tastes goddamn amazing.

Cooking date, is it?
