He was pretty thin in the flashbacks. I think he bulked up, but never actually had that large a frame.

Actually you know what, I totally dig it now. "Pathetic" has really strongly negative connotations, but I mean it in the best way when I say SP! Ethan was this pathetic character for whom it was really funny to heap indignities onto. No one really respected him even if they liked him well enough, and when he went all the way to be there for his friends I think it hit as hard as it did because he was making this serious effort he was out of his depth on. I think this look for Ethan captures that same energy in a way the big square jawed hunk who always had a kind protecting word for everyone really didn't, because I think of Ethan as more endearing when that dithering mother hen behaviour is coming from someone less capable. Like DoA Ethan had a lifetime of experience caring for Amber and knows exactly what to say in anxiety self-loathing flare-ups, but Shortpacked Ethan felt morally obligated to bang Amber and bumbled his way into rescuing her from getting kidnapped by Blaine. I know Ive never had anything good to say about DoA Ethan but I'm legit excited to start peeling into his head and being as wrong with my predictions for him as I am for every other character.
