Damien

I am confused.

C

Sometimes I ask why the internet is like this...but even more, why is that guy THAT into legs?

Wednesday

This is beautiful.

Josh Hiscock

The author of 9 Chickweed Lane, in addition to drawing a strip that is eternally horny on main, also refuses to use anything but ten dollar words. This depiction is *chef's kiss*

William Burns

The artist will Brooke no explanation. *plays piano and flounces away, all legs*

EmpressAngel

This is gonna be fucking incomprehensible for anyone not reading your twitter and I love that.

Daniel Adams

Acted with integrity, no regrets.

H. Jameel al Khafiz

A perfect depiction of the warp and weft of the narrative.

Douglas Appelt

"Perorate the parley" & "Contemn and susserate"?? Wow. You dug deep for those, didn't you? :D

Steve McSheffrey

Those first few panels are tons funnier than any 9 Chickwood lane I've ever read

Cliomancer

I must speculate from the torso on down he is just one long sexy leg.

DJ Illuminator

This is, in fact, what we are here for, yes.

Harold

Further proof for Joyce (and Dorothy) that there is, in fact, no God.

Harold

Not as incomprehensible as the continued existence of 9CL itself.

Rob McBobson

Also, one strip used the word that starts with J and rhymes with "sap". Readers were not altogether pleased, understandably.

William Tessmer

I'm torn between applauding this masterpiece, and condemning everyone here for willing this monstrosity into existence. I guess we really are the cackling sickos outside the window.

Harold

Neither was the Los Angeles Times, which dropped 9CL altogether after that strip.

Harold

You have to give Willis credit - the minute the door was opened to this possibility, it was pretty much inevitable. The people have spoken, and Willis has responded. We should all be ashamed of ourselves. I plan to be, as soon as I finish laughing uncontrollably.

Spencer

I've never been made so viscerally uncomfortable by three panels of a person in my life.

Packy Anderson

Yes, there is. His name is David Willis.

Snail

JULLIARD SCHOOL. This made me look up his wikipedia bio and it all makes sense now, unfortunately.

Daniel Adams

Nothing like a good Watchmen spoof.

Josh Fruhlinger

lmao i JUST noticed the leg lamp. damn you willis (in a good way)

Harold

Dammit, I just noticed it, too. It's a major award!

Tim Starliper

I missed it at first too. Read the 4th panel and had to go back to the other 3.

crufl

the man, the myth, the legend. The....leg-end. ....the Rorschach quote.

Populuxe

I follow DMW on twitter. I read the 9CL tweets for a few days, then just started ignoring them. I know it’s a lousy cartoon strip. That’s why I don’t read it.

Snail

Without Shortpacked!, how else are we going to get our fix of zany over-the-top unpopular culture references if we don't vote for the worst suggestion every month.

emily koster

IM LAUGHIGN SO HARD you fucking murdered him twice

Ty34er

Who voted for this man

Pierpaolo Di Camillo

Probably one of the greatest comics artists of his time. He has understood everything!

yaoi boi

Rejected everywhere else.

Robert Weldon

This is absolutely brilliant; you sir, are a genius. I have to wonder if you get any blowback from McEldowney about you roasting him.

Mark

I've never read this strip save when Josh Fruhlinger roasts it, but I still thought that this was hilarious!

The Mela Experience

Yeah, "Rorschach with a thesaurus" probably is what talking to Brooke sounds like. Bravo!

Daibhid Ceannaideach

The Comics Curmugeon actually seems to have given up on it entirely as "not even fun to snark at any more". His vacation replacement Uncle Lumpy is made of stronger stuff, and grimly acknowledges it (and Luann) once in his guest runs. Despite the Curmugeon site somehow getting me hooked on the misery-fest of Funky Winkerbean and the emotional void of ... well, most of the soap strips, with this one I went straight from "I've never heard of this comic" to "I have zero interest in ever reading this comic" without ever passing through any other state.

ValdVin

Josh F. once noted that he doesn't want to deal with 9CL, and considering that he may have to read (and write) about the antics of Wilbur Weston and Les Moore every day of the week, I very much understand him.

Regalli

They get some syndicated strips.

Regalli

He even worked in the Alien Will of the Dernier Cri.
