Meagan Fischer

This one teared me up a bit. I didn't know the meme.

Amelie W

Why would people waste pizza on recreating a 20 year old joke? It's already done, guys. You can enjoy the joke, but you can't be a part of it.

Jen

Wait what about apartheid?

sjmcc13

Remember, they justified Jim Crow and similar Racism laws using Religious Belief. One of the major reasons I am always worried about the "unintended" scope of Religious freedom laws...

David M Willis

You're giving too much credit! Apartheid is justified merely by appealing to capitalism. Ending it would be just so chaotic to the market. Best to keep what they have, it's working fine, probably.

Chasey

I am unfamiliar with this meme... And here I thought I was wise in the way of the meme.

Jeffrey Witthauer

I don't remember ever being taught about apartheid during my horrible right-wing cult homeschooling. I remember being taught that the only problem with Vietnam was evil liberals not letting the war go on longer. But I don't remember learning a thing about apartheid. Had no idea who Mandela was. I honestly think my first exposure to the very idea of apartheid (or anything about South Africa) was Harry Turtledove's time travel novel "Guns of the South", about a bunch of South African white supremacists going back in time and giving the Confederacy automatic weapons. I'm trying to remember if I ever even heard about apartheid before that. I really don't think I did.

There are to many memes to be learned in all of the ways of the meme..

Jeffrey Witthauer

Of course, we were of the "If it's not US American or Israeli it's ruled by Satan" persuasion.

Simon Magid

Arrrrgh. Harry Turtledove. I have excised him from my heart. Damn it all.

Douglas Appelt

Sayid, Sayid, Sayid. If you think you're being trolled, troll 'em back! MAKE THAT "NONE PIZZA LEFT BEEF"! (it's what the customer ASKED for, man!)

Jeffrey Witthauer

He gave us a world where the South won. And that was all we ever wanted. Speaking of the South, does the whole "Rise Up" slogan for the Atlanta Falcons feel "South Will Rise Again"-ish to anyone else? No? Just me? I'll go now.

Spencer

I'm down with more Sayid/Becky buddy comedy tbh.

C.T. Phipps

I confess, even I'm surprised by how many Christians feel like racism is a part of the religion. I know where it comes from (it's the South and EVERYTHING is about pretending their ancestors weren't 19th century steampunk Nazis - I know I'm a southerner) but it's so damned disappointing.

Megan Lane

I don't think I was taught about Apartheid at all, but I *was* taught that Native Americans were grateful for the assimilation schools they got put into because they learned about God there.

Jetstream

Well, I mean... even if they got trolled, someone still had to pay for that pizza, right? :P I mean the Pizza twitter that has tons of pictures of people receiving orders like that suggest that it does happen all legit-like

TheChiGuy

I highly doubt they were grateful.....lmao

Chasey

Thank you, Douglas. That would explain it, though; no Tumblr for me.

Jeffrey Witthauer

And really, black people should be grateful for slavery, because it helped them learn about Jesus. They even wrote songs! People who write songs can't be sad, right? RIGHT? (Just to be clear... that was all sarcasm)

Owen Smith

I have in fact ordered and received a none pizza with left beef. :)

Bagge

Ow, ow, ow, Becky in Panel 3 and 4 look so dejected. "I messed up. I'm a bad Becky, not worthy of an awesome job. Sorry for my existence." DINA, HUG BECKY, STAT!

Traveller X

I still don't get why that is a meme. It is a physically real pizza you can order and get for no good reason. It's a terrible way to have pizza.
