The juxtaposition of storylines suggests that we should see a parallel between Joe and Joyce not having sex yet and Sal and Danny not having sex yet. These relationships are being undertaken for other reasons. With Walky and Lucy it's not so clear, and I can't take definite stand.

Looks like Joe is making a solid effort to go At the Right Pace. I guess there’s a slight chance he could overdo it and put Joyce on some kind of Madonna pedestal. Joyce has some good reasons in her history and personality to take it slow. But she’s also made a few breakthroughs sexually lately. Sooner or later she’ll be ready for more.
