Aww it doesn't matter what caveats are behind it, it really seems to mean a lot to Joe that Danny said he believes in him.

Sal cynically predicting doom for every relationship she sees isn’t a great look for her. I mean yes, on one hand these are all dingus freshman still learning relationships, so it’s not like there’s a high likelihood many of these are “ ‘til death do us part”, but that includes you and Wonderbread here too.

Joe has been a decent, non-sex hound for a grand total of five seconds. Even if she accepts he's changed, Joyce also has a LOT of baggage of her own. And setting aside all that, it's fairly reasonable to worry that the person with a high libido who fucks a lot *might* have some relationship issues with the person who has crippling sexual insecurities. We as the audience know that they're better (ish), but in universe, it's been maybe a month or so since these major life changes started for them?

I love the last panel XD However, the whole Joyce/Joe thing has an even more worrying wrinkle. The way that Joyce is referring to Joe here defines the "before him" as a person who should be completely ashamed of having lots of sex and liking it. Joe was not an asshole for having sex, Joe was an asshole for how he treated women. Him liking and having lots of sex is fine. She's also presenting herself as having "saved him", which also adds to the shaming. It will be interesting to see how this works out, but oof, red flag. I'm with Sal here about how fast this will go sideways. (Doesn't even mean breaking up necessarily, just badly going sideways. If they would recover remains to be seen.)

"Sex monster" is ambiguous enough to include either case. And claiming she "seduced" him seems to be a pretty clear indicator that she's being at least somewhat tongue-in-cheek here. It's possible the dynamic you're describing exists, but I think it's a little too early to tell. Judging by the smile on his face when she says it, Joe doesn't seem too concerned about it at the moment, and unlike us, he can hear her tone of voice.
