More Bi-Monthly. 😁😁😁😂

Jey Siksa

You can avoid drawing hips with a midriff and up framing

Pangab

I know there’s been some people taking their Dorothy/Joyce shipping a little far. But honestly there is no heterosexual explanation for that.

Andrea Andrew

Good to see Joe’s stand in suggesting this. He’s totally not jealous.

Dean Argiris

This, right here, is just straight up fanservice. Thank you 🙏

Honestly, 50/50 shot Joe would be entirely fine being an observer to such a kiss (would be higher, but Joe's shown a lot of romantic feels as of late).

C

I can't wait to see Joyce reacting to the eventual fan letters of her comic strip (and the no doubt high percentage of PresidentGray* shippers). *We don't have a proper ship name for Joyce's strip yet, so I decided to make up one on my own.

AE Gonzalez

Joyce sure seems focused in panels 2 and 3

Andrea Andrew

Yeah. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈😁

I like how it's unclear if Joyce's "what" is her reacting to what she drew or some telepathic message from Sarah. ~<3

HueStL

Last Julia Gray strip had Joyce and Sarah wearing what they'll wear in 2 chapters. Am I thinking about it too much, if I'm trying to figure out which day the bonus strips take place on?

David M Willis

I put them in their bed clothes because I don't have outfits designed out that far!

David M Willis

(plus the comics don't print on sundays, so that pushes this out even further)

HueStL

She's not breathing. CPR's not a sexual act.

ljdbjlasfbjk

We don't see the fifteen minutes that elapsed between panels 3 and 4 in which Sarah is staring at Joyce in horror.

Maude Reads Things

Okay, Joyce, come on. You gotta see what Daisy meant about queer baiting by now

Derek Benson

Mr Willis, does this happen to you in real life?

Bagge

"also, check out how well drawn hips she has"

Evelyn

*Generally*. Exceptions can happen. Such exceptions would be heterosexual explanations.

ValdVin

Does Joyce have eyes in the back of her head? No, but her religious upbringing allows her to sense others' mistrust and disapproval in a 360-degree circle.

Daibhid Ceannaideach

CPR's not a sexual act. It's also not mouth-to-mouth resucitation, which the CPR course I did covered in "Don't do this."

Uniquitous

Just twisting the knife in the shippers' hearts, eh? 😆

Pierpaolo Di Camillo

Sarah seems really chocked by what Joyce is drawing... that must be VERY good! I wonder if the mouth to mouth panel will involve Shojo manga flowers and others romantic effects.

HueStL

mouth-to-mouth is part of CPR. And even when it's used not as part of CPR, there's a medical purpose. There is a non-sexual explanation, no matter how "generally understood to carry romantic or sexual subtext" something is, "yes?" I know Willis is ship-teasing, and that requires a non-romantic explanation exists.

Pangab

This is so silly because this is not real Joyce needing to give real Dorothy cpr because of actual injury. This is a comic created by Joyce that frequently expresses her inner feelings. There’s nothing sexual about actual cpr. But Joyce writing a story in which Joe suggests she perform cpr on Dorothy reveals thoughts of Joyce as the writer of this scenario that would be different then if this was a medically necessary situation she was put in. Having Joe say the words “You need to do mouth to mouth” is not her writing medical advice. It’s an extension of the bias she still has towards Joe as a horn dog who just wants to watch two women kiss. But Joyce also made this scenario because she’s interested in this idea of a hyper sexual person I think both as a contrast to her old conceptions of purity and as a tool she can use for exploration of things she’s wondered about but has been too anxious to try. Another element here is that Joyce maybe wanted to write a story where she kisses another woman for a man she’s interested in who finds it sexy. A “I kissed a girl and I liked it” scenario meant to titillate men. I think Joyce has never felt sexy before and would like too. But on top of that there be some even maybe just experimental longing within Joyce. What would it be like to kiss a girl she likes? In this space she can explore this idea without consequences.

Kyle

Okay, but our poor victim really looks a LOT like cartoons of Willis, in that first panel. How many layers of self-destruction is this?

David M Willis

write a comic in which a self-insert is contrived into a mouth-to-mouth situation after somebody is crushed by a dorm bed? yes i believe definitely so

A. B. Cianchetti

Daisy is going to be very, very happy very, very soon. It'll only last for a moment, but that moment will be worth it.

Phas87

Joyce grew up with siblings, she has a sense for when she's receiving confused or judgmental stares.
