I know people are snarking at her, but Sarah is actually, legitimately, being a wonderful friend here. Panel 3 says it all. She cares so, so, much about Joyce. And Joyce can see it and it makes her really happy. That little smile in Panel 4. She feels the love and support, and it's going to make her encounter with her mom that much easier, even if Sarah's no longer physically present. They've come so far in their friendship. I'm proud of Sarah for being willing to admit that she cares when it's important. And yes, once Joyce declines her offer, Sarah uses snark to cope with the anxiety that she got from being kind. They both know she wouldn't have actually spilled Joyce's secrets to her mom.
