I doubt Hank now has a "secular worldview." I'm sure he's no longer a member of Carol's church, but I'm equally sure he still believes in God. Joyce's atheism seems like a result of the weight of everything that's recently happened colliding head-on with her well-established (and now more understandable) all-or-nothing approach to her faith.
