Can't wait for the other shoe to drop regarding this massive chip on her shoulder Jennifer has for Walky

that shoe's been falling basically their whole lives, or at least since billie became alpha bongo and hanging out with this little weirdo became a detriment to her reputation people keep saying that she's been meaner to walky since she became jennifer and i really don't see it

anyway i suspect linda will regard studious, friendly, churchy, smiley lucy as "one of the good ones" once she gets to know her since as established sal being least favorite is less about sal's literal skin color and more about sal's bad grades and "delinquent behavior", which linda reads as "blacker"

I'm pretty sure it's a misogynoir thing, considering how cold Linda immediately was to Lucy.

HenryVolt

Bold to assume she's going to even get that far.

I was predicting something a little less obvious but still gets the point across. Something along the lines of her saying "Lucy's ok but I liked the other one a little bit better," as she thinks Lucy and Walky aren't in ear shot.

Taking bets on who y'all think will be right

The Balloon Animal

That 5th panel has got me in a tizzy. Is Lucy figuring it out? Has she ALREADY figured it out and is just biting her tongue out of politeness? I loved Lucy in the Walkyverse and I love her here. So happy she's become such a regular player on Dumbing

Harold

Sadly, Lucy's "Huh?" in panel 3 of the next strip indicates that she has not, in fact, figured it out. Not surprising, considering how consistently she tries to see the best/ignore the worst in people. Either Walky (ideally) or Sal (more likely) needs to clue her in before lunch, before Linda makes it painfully obvious.
