Love it! Would you consider going into the shaders and rendering at a later stage? Would love to know more about how you achieve this lovely clay effect!

Worthikids

I can certainly go into the shaders in the making-of! but I'm not doing anything fancy and I'm not really going for a clay look at all 😭😭 rankin/bass puppets aren't made of clay, it's a shame if it looks clay-ish that's really not my intent haha

Rún

Oh no I didn't want to throw you off haha! I just googled rankin puppets and I think the shading looks really convincing :D I think clay is the wrong word, maybe porcelain is more appropriate? Either way would love to see your blender set up!

This is nostalgia in a bottle. Reminds me of Rudolph an A Year Without a Santa Claus. I'm so excited to see it all come together.

Chris Webb

Can't wait to see more! :)

Juan Hernandez

It reminds me of jack from movie from 1979

SleepCircle

i didn't think it looked like clay, i thought it looked like some kind of… painted ceramic…? whatever the case, it definitely matches "the look"

Alonso Rojas

It's great to see it go from concept to render, looks amazing. Is it just as you imagined it?

Wednessday L Ezaki

This genuinely looks like it is from an actual rankin and bass movie. I'm floored

God, this is coming along so well, I love it. I just have to ask, do you have any plans to add Duloc or Bikini Bottom to Spotify? I love those albums so much, it'd be great if I could fit some songs from them into my playlists!

Worthikids

both those albums contain a ton of copywritten samples, unfortunately. I wouldn't feel safe putting them on spotify 😅😅 duloc would be easier to salvage than bikini bottom, though, I might make a spotify-safe version someday (5-year anniversary is next year I'm realizing!)

Tess Land

It’s bananas how good and professional this looks wtf

Zee

This is fuckin wild! I love the retro film look, I've been actually thinking about how to do this in 2d for awhile, are you doing it in post? The best solution I've come up with so far is maybe noise fx and slightly off register RGB screens? But you've somehow nailed it in the previous two renders
