This is one of the movies I'd heard of before starting this channel! I've been excited to see it for a long time, and it did NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I rented this on Prime Video if you're looking for it!

I'm guessing the original Fright Night?

djKENTO

here's a crazy fact... both versions have the same runtime.

I knew Kat would enjoy Evil. Kindred spirits!

You're in the club, Kat! That was kind of moving when she said that, like she's been on her own arc with this channel, and Fright Night has completed her Hero's Journey.

Fun Facts: Peter Vincent was the great Roddy McDowall, who started as a child actor in the 1940's and continued on working regularly in TV, theater and films until his death in 1998. He was one of those rare actors who was liked by everyone in Hollywood. And yes, that was fake white in his hair. There is a marked homoerotic subtext in Fright Night (think Billy Cole on his knees tending to Jerry's hand, or Jerry telling Evil Ed that he knows what it's like to be different). I once had a chance to Ask Chris Sarandon (Susan's ex) about it. He said the director wanted to leave the interpretaions open ended. The fruit was Sarandon's idea, observing that some bats eat only fruit. I always thought of Dandridge as a tragic character, since he tells Charlie he'll give him something he doesn't have - a choice. This was one of the first of a spate of horror comedy amalgams (which included American Werewolf, Night of the Creeps, Night of the Comet, etc. Speaking of night: did you notice that when Jerry exits the mother's bedroom he is whistling "Strangers in the Night"? Excellent score by Brad Feidel, who also did the first two Terminator movies. And speaking of sequels, there is a (sometimes maligned) perfectly serviceable sequel "Fright Night 2". I recommend it (same leads and excellent use of the wide-screen format and cinematography).

The great Roddy McDowall was one of my childhood favourites for all of his brilliant acting in The Planet of the Apes film series.
