I'm pretty sure John Carpenter has stated somewhere that his biggest regret was making them siblings.

Great reaction. I love the first movie, but this is the one that gave me nightmares. Myers is terrifying here. He's just scarier. I think it's because he's undead, more like a zombie. He walks at one speed whether he's chasing someone or not. Stuntman Dick Warlock plays him and he makes Myers look more physically powerful than the slender Nick Castle who played Michael in the original. The mask used is the same, but in the three years between films, I think it was stored in less than ideal conditions, under Debra Hill's bed I think. She was a chainsmoker and that supposedly added to the character of the mask. Either way, everything is more intense, from the violence to the soundtrack. Cundey's cinematography is moodier, more shadowy. Apparently Rick Rosenthal was inspired by the use of light and shadow of early German horror like "Nosferatu" and "Vampyr," maybe? Not sure. Oh you should watch that one. "Vampyr." 1932. Gorgeous.
