No Hoedown ? (Bummer) First time watching this Series. I'm going to be sad to see it end. I love this Show and do appreciate your reviews.

TeatroGrottesco

One of the best episodes of TV ever. Incredible editing and use of color. Seamless narrative.

This is a such a good episode, love that we get backstories and they manage to have three storylines/timelines going without making it confusing or hard to follow :D

Digital Droo

Dang. I watched this episode about a hundred times and never noticed the continuity goof with the candles. Good catch!

You've made it to my favorite episode! And, in my opinion, the best episode of the series. I love the backstories of how everyone came to be on the ship. Wash's introduction never fails at making me laugh. Totally agree that it's criminal that this show was so short-lived...not even letting them finish a full season feels even more mean. And even though it sucks that we didn't get more time with these big damn heroes, they are so much fun to visit with. I watch this show maybe once a year, and I always delight in seeing these characters again. And I have to share this little tidbit: when the show's cancellation was announced, Alan Tudyk took that button from the bridge...Whedon was going to try and get the show renewed with another network or to get a movie made...Tudyk sent him the button and said: "when your miracle gets here, press this button and we'll come back." And the combination of people involved in the show's desire to come back, as well as fans loudly demanding it, got us the movie!

Thank you for doing this show and for your whole channel but I beg of you, don't skip the intro if you have the full audio included 👏👏

Rayve

My favorite ep!

CLFuqua87

One of my favorite episodes. Prime Whedon firing on all cylinders.

This is the third time I have watched the full series… I’m sure it will feel like I lost friends this time just like it did the first two times.

Kiki McD

It's such a joy to watch someone else fall in love with something that you love dearly.

I would say "the real horror of this episode is..." but it would be redundant. I hope Kat eventually sings the theme correctly. We've only got a few more tries!

TGrimace

There are two shows that it's absolutely criminal that they got cancelled. Firefly and Farscape. I highly recommend a watch of Farscape. I believe you would love it.

So when you finish your time with the crew of Serenity, would it be too much to ask that you do a reaction to watching the blooper reels from both the show and the movie? They're brief, available on YouTube, and there's some really, REALLY amazing bits in there. Guaranteed to cheer you up after watching these big damn heroes fly off into the sunset.

Jeffrey Thomas

thank you, i was unaware but am now heavily invested!!

I see you're anxious about getting to the end of the series... and that's understandable. but take into account it ends with a GRAND finale! Serenity (2005) is a marvel of a film that does things the original series never could, due to budget, scale, etc. It's a serious glow-up that delivers so hard for the fans that never stopped during the years before the series ended and it got made. It's a shining, glorious love letter to the fans and absolutely something to look forward to.

I'm surprised no one mentioned that the part that was broken was the same one that Kaylee said needed replacing when they landed on Persephone in the beginning of Episode One! She says "If the compression coil busts, we're drifting." Then in Episode two she mentions that Mal won't replace the "crappy compression coil".

Bob Criswell

Just the ingenuity of the writing makes this one of the best episodes of any TV series ever.

Eric H

You were already convinced this show was the best ever made. This episode would not cause you to change your very valid opinion.

Not mentioning details for fear of spoilers, as I don't know if Kat has gotten that far as I type this...but that part also puts in a surprising appearance as a blink-and-you'll-miss-it prop in "Serenity."
