"Is this movie gonna be hard to understand?!?!" Oh sweet summer child! Buckles in for the upcoming straining of the brain! The dvd had a version of the movie that started at the "end" and went to the "beginning"... ie chronological.

I love this movie so much. A mystery where we know exactly how it ends yet it’s still got enough twists & turns to be unpredictable from the point of view of the villain who we think is the hero until the last 5 minutes. When I first saw this movie, I was a little tired of the sameness I was seeing in movies. This reminded me what the medium can do.

are we ever getting Serenity? it's been so long since the Firefly watches ended, and then just months of gap.... feels so unresolved.

RJ Inkglider

This is my favorite Nolan movie. I'm not a big fan otherwise.

Ahh, it's been ages since I've watched Memento- such a cool concept. Great reaction! My favorite film that I've seen Guy Pearce in is The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994) which also stars Hugo Weaving and Terence Stamp.

RJ Inkglider

The lead actor is Guy Pearce. He had a period in the early 2000s when he was really on fire. LA Confidential is probably his best role, if not this one.

CJGardner

If you don't recognize Guy Pearce then you haven't seen LA Confidential, and you MUST! SO fantastic, film noir style. I'd tell you who else is in it but surprises are fun.

I love your reaction, but I hate this movie. One of the worst movies I've ever seen to be honest, in my opinion.

The Armenastra channel needs more cooking content. May I suggest another episode where you make Frick Muffins?

RJ Inkglider

Tenet was a complete mess. You shouldn't feel dumb. It was an Escher picture trying to be a movie.

RJ Inkglider

It's not a coincidence that this is his best movie; his brother wrote it.

Scott Ikemire

Jonathan is extremely talented. They make a great team. Is it sacrilege if The Prestige is my favorite? lol

laurax22

Yessssss can’t wait to watch your reaction!!

Owen Kosik

It was a product of the time, and regardless it was a huge step in story structure from what was being done in mainstream movies. I think it's really impressive and very fun and it required engagement, which is a rare thing nowadays.

Owen Kosik

I think you were thinking of Pierce Brosnan, who to be fair kinda looks like Guy Pearce

CJGardner

Tenet was definitely no bueno for me too, good gosh googly eyes. But I saw this one in the theatre and I was SO MAD the whole time because I wasn't used to time-benders at all yet. Like, Pulp Fiction and that's it. By the end though I was like, 'oh I'm NOT stupid!' so I felt much better about the whole thing. It was his first movie that had any 'oh who's this then?' buzz for Nolan, if I recall.

EmilyKT

I watched this movie for the first time earlier this year, and I was convinced I knew how it was going to end (or how it began), and I was WRONG. And yes, this is one of Nolan's earliest movies. If you want to check out another Nolan movie, I'd recommend Insomnia from 2002...it's probably one of his most underrated movies. And shoutout to Harriet Harris! She's such a great character actress and is so heartbreaking as Sammy's wife.

Mattoid

Y'know this is one I've never watched, but is similar to other films I like. Something about the opening was off-putting, knew it was going to be all questions and all mysteries, without payoff until the end, which would drive me crazy. But since you're watching it too, and you will are probably the one person it will drive more crazy than me, then let's do this thing!

Mattoid

Yeah that was about what I expected, now I have to go find a forwards version on Youtube. I didn't think the cop was especially crooked though, he was genuinely trying to help Lenny by finding him bad guys that needed murdering, to satisfy his neverending quest for vengeance. It was just this last time he decided to make a little money on the side. Alright that is pretty crooked, but he wasn't out purely to use Leonard

One of my all-time favorite movies and one of the most unique movies ever!!! You were spot-on that we are meant to be just as confused as our main character is, and the movie moving in reverse order creates a method of story-telling that is very unpredictable and confusing and thrilling! On the dvd, you can watch the movie in chronological order, and it’s crazy how easy it is to understand with the story flowing in that direction, in contrast with how we are shown the story. Loved your reaction!!! Christopher Nolan also made the Batman trilogy with Christian Bale (and Heath Ledger as the Joker), Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, The Prestige, and The Odyssey (currently in theaters!).

KAT - sometimes You are freaking me out.... XD Guy Pearce... do You know Hugo Weaving? I know You do. Well basically - same actor. Like Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton. No one can ever tell those apart. ;) XD Pearce and Weaving - they are both aussie actors.
