seven tessipates

oh if you thought this was fun, Evolution (2001) is also in the same vein, more comedy than 'horror' but very fun. Ghostbusters kinda fun (same director)

Jason_H

Who is this young reactor?

seven tessipates

what a love letter to old movies too,, the Troma films Gunn got his start with, little references to other horror directors like the Hennenlotter banner in town (Basket Case, Frankenhooker, Brain Damage) and you nailed it, the slow body horror transformations like from Cronenberg's The Fly-- and this movie is maybe most well-known for being a love letter to Night of the Creeps (1985) which has .. a similar plot and sense of humor! so much love put into this lil gem

RJ Inkglider

The guy you said you recognized in the beginning is Michael Rooker. He's been in a ton of tv shows & movies, most famously in the Walking Dead & Guardians of the Galaxy (James Gunn made a cameo appearance in that scene also).

RJ Inkglider

It's too bad how that Supergirl movie didn't turn out so well.

Kaleigh Kaos

I totally forgot about this movie. What a blast to watch it again with a great reaction host to boot! I really enjoy commentary that includes industry relevant insight, speculation, or observation. It scratches that "love of the medium" itch I have perfectly.

Taco Wolf

Yaaay! I've been looking forward to this reaction since you mentioned watching it, like over a year ago 😃 I can't wait! Hopefully this is one of two Nathan Fillion movies we get this week? Eh? Eh?

Jeffrey Thomas

GREAT NEWS! The new update stars Nathan Fillion! and it's from the mid 00's! and it's got a one word title! and the title starts with S!! could it be, after months of waiting.... SERENITY?!?!?!?! no.... it's Slither are you just trolling us at this point?

K, Zachary

Oh I am in for a treat today well with you and Cassie I am always in for treat. 🥰

"How big an asteroid is necessary to knock Earth out of orbit" A question I can answer! Problem is, it is incomplete, what matters is momentum transfer, how large the object is, the velocity, and the angle of the strike. Such impacts were possible in the early solar system, it is, after all, how we got the moon about 4.5 billion years ago, but the total momentum in the collision was conserved, the remaining body we call the earth now didn't have the orbit measurably changed, and the impact forces were sufficient to partially vaporize the Earth and the impacting body entirely, which accreted to the body of mud we call Earth today and as a bonus, a moon. Also, as noted below, Evolution is a great watch. It has David Duchovny!

No Mr. Pibb is the true Horror of this story. I love that Mayor and his Dialog had me rolling. Thank you for making Slither so enjoyable Kat. You are always dead on with the choices on your Channel. 87 % on rotten Tomatoes kind of took me back a little. Had to be the awesome effects. Loved the bit of Air Supply. Worst Family Fun Day ever.

EmilyKT

I came here to say the same thing Taco! Reeeallly hoping to see some big damn heroes very soon!

Code Monkey

This had to have been an homage to "Night of the Creeps" from 1986... ... and plug ALL the holes!!!

Joon S

She has, it's in her Collections

Joon S

So how's that Serenity reaction coming lol

Kiki McD

the mayor's dialogue is so good. i still quote it every now & then and i saw this when it first came out.

Kiki McD

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but - director James Gunn began his film career at Troma Entertainment (independent production co. founded in the 70s, famous for low-budget schlock/B-grade horror). Co-founder Lloyd Kaufman can be seen in the police station, and Troma's most famous film, The Toxic Avenger, is playing on TV when Grant visits Brenda's home. This movie got me to explore Troma films and I tells ya....I am not the same. I love them, but they have damaged me. Also, Dr Carl is voiced by Rob Zombie. :) wheeee, im havin a great time!

Daniel Turbyfill

I don’t know if I can do this. Worms really gross me out so much, I probably won’t be able to eat for a day or two. I really just keep hoping for Serenity.

RJ Inkglider

To answer your question about asteroids, it'd have to be pretty damn big to knock us off our orbit, and if it was that big all life would be incinerated.

RJ Inkglider

Honestly this feels like just another excuse for Hollywood to make fun of rural America.

Robert Raszkowski

Hmm... "The Hidden" from 1987 KAT - look that one out. I promise You will love it. :)
