Already on the 3rd season? Moving along Kat

James At the Peak

Nailed It Kat. greatest opening ever. The Captain needs some R/R

The Great Lopan

The Scotty doesn’t know comment 😂😂😂😂😂

Daniel Turbyfill

You really should watch the TOS era films before beginning TNG. At least the first 4 films.

Erich

Great work, Kat! Before you bail on TOS, how about Tomorrow Is Yesterday for some time travel fun. Other excellent choices: Day of the Dove (Kang! not that one), The Tholian Web, or All Our Yesterdays

Daniel Turbyfill

To be fair you could ship the first one and just watch Star Trek II, III, and IV.

RJ Inkglider

I hope you feel better Kat! You look just as beautiful as ever.

Perry Campbell

Great reaction ❤️❤️❤️❤️ please don’t skip no movies 🍿

Owen Kosik

Hope you feel better buddy!

Really glad that you took this trip too, Kat!  I hope you'll revisit the TOS era at some point on your own time...  the highlights are great, but there's a lot of great content in the episodes you haven't seen (and the inevitable few stinkers, but even those are fun in their own way).  I'll second the motion not to skip the movies; it's like hanging out with the same old gang of friends, only this time the stakes are bigger and the budgets much more lavish.

Michael Gehrman

Do the rest of TOS! It's the best series by far!

This is a good one. Regarding your comments about Spock going too far on this one - the way that I've always taken it, is that he's playing her, for information on the cloaking device; she's playing HIM, as bringing in a Federation starship completely intact, with its full crew unharmed, and with its captain as a criminal, would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; so they're both kind of fencing. And they both figure out, a little too late, that they're actually getting invested in the other person. It works so well on both their parts because it's not entirely an act. This one was probably the best of Spock's romances - they're equals, they have a lot in common but are different enough to make things spicy, they're both intelligent and thinking a couple of moves ahead. (And it goes without saying that she looks amazing in that micro-dress.) On a side note, I think you need to do a line of T-shirts and/or sweatshirts with a comic or stylized head pic of you intoning "SEN-SOARS," possibly while sitting in Spock's chair - he doesn't seem to use it all that often, anyway. I'd buy one.

This is one of those great B-episodes I mentioned on your Tribbles reaction. It doesn't possess the depth of an A plot but the characterizations and a simple story provide enough enjoyment to carry us to the end without too much scrutiny. There are a bunch of enjoyable B-episodes if you'd like to extend your voyage with TOS. But if you're determined to beam out please consider at least one episode from Star Trek: The Animated Series (TAS) — they're only about 25 minutes each (and I recommend S1E2 "Yesteryear"). Then, before re-engaging with TNG, watch the TOS movies! They're out of this world. And please ignore calls to skip any of them; they each have something to say, and they're all true to the spirit of Star Trek. Thanks, KAT! LLAP 🖖🏻

You did it Kat! Perfect rendition of the opening speech!

"Aye aye" is old British navy sailing parlance. First "aye": Indicates that the order was heard and understood. Second "aye": Confirms that the person will obey and comply with the command. Distinction: A single "aye" or "aye, sir" is used to answer a question or acknowledge a general statement, whereas "aye, aye" is strictly reserved for actionable orders.

RJ Inkglider

Thank you for letting me relive my childhood again through new eyes. When I was watching TOS reruns some of the nuances went over my head but you're always one step ahead. You saw that this was some kind of subterfuge right away.

RJ Inkglider

Didn't she watch another time travel episode recently? City on the Edge of Forever or something?

RJ Inkglider

I think she's wrapping it up and not continuing.

Erich

Yes, but with “Tomorrow is Yesterday” she’ll know the basis for time travel in Star Trek IV!

Victor E. Darlage

Please watch the movies before you go on to the Next Generation!

RJ Inkglider

Darn it, I missed your livestream. I hope it went well.

Michael Davis

YES! But no dance? Almost perfect! Aye aye (Sir): First aye: Means "I understand the instruction." Second aye: Means "I will comply and carry out the command." Distinction: It differs from a simple "yes," confirming not just agreement, but complete comprehension and readiness to act

I find it interesting that this episode was written by a woman. It has a little bit more "romance" than most, and it was deftly handled. The writer was D. C. Fontana, Dorothy Fontana, the show's script supervisor. She wrote something like 10 episodes. And let's hear it for Joanne Linville, the Romulan commander, who looks mighty good for being about 40 at this point. BTW, how we know Kat has been watching too much Star Trek: "Warp factor nine!"
