Gosh I loved this episode! Well, love them all with the fire of a thousand suns, but for me personally - this is just me, mind you - I thought this one was the scariest. The clown scurry did me in, after all that creepy tense build-up. My friend has a couple other moments that she ranks with that one, but it's all a personal thing of course. I know you probably know by now with however far ahead you really are with what you think, but overall, man! Isn't this show great?!? Teeth!

This episode reminds me of Hokum, which is one of the better recent horror movies in the last several years. It's a strikingly similar premise except instead of the mayor, it's a tourist who stays in the haunted inn.

They renewed for a 2nd season.

Wow, you were literally hiding from the screen there at the end. I've been watching your stuff from the beginning and you've only been that unsettled a couple times. I have to admit the setup for that creepy clown was top notch, but like you I knew that guy was a ghost also from the 50's haircut, shirt and tie.

I just recognized the inn keeper. He was the bad guy in the 2016 Ghostbusters movie.

Would love to see THE NIGHT STALKER 1972 TV Movie of The Week on one of the reaction channels. Be great of it was you. Influenced a lot of TV programing coming after it. Chris Carter said he was innfluenced to create The X-Files series because he loved the movie so much. He wrote an episode in the fifth seson guest staring Darren McGavin. Darren had played the main character in the movie. Ironically the guest role his character had been a founder and proponent of the X-Files program. The movie spawned a 1 season tv series by the same name. Year 2022 bought a 50th anniversary graphic novel. The movie has held up well.

Who in their RIGHT MIND would ever stay the night in a haunted hotel just because somebody DARED them to?

This episode reminded me of the movie 1408 🖤 and Matthew Rhys reminds me of Julian McMahon (may he rest in peace)
